Cruickshank pulled after 49 mins against Phoenix (Phoenix win game 6-2!), showing a magnificant Save % of 85.3%
Gomez muderers Cornish - floors him with one punch, and then continues to inflict the damage. Wilson has to resue Cornish.
Final pims...116-53
Alls not well up North..... ;D

CC is playing in front of a permeable defence to say the least. I'd still rather have him here than Lindsay but what can we do?

CC is playing in front of a permeable defence to say the least. Perhaps he should try playing behind his defence - might be easier to stop the goals going in......

Ah! Glad he's not with us, but then since we have a better defencing player CC may score a higher percentage of saves.
Nah I'd keep Lindsay.

Couldn't give a monkey's about CC. Newsflash.... he doesn't play for us any more......
Lindsay was excellent last night, kept us in the game at times, and but for a strange bounce, would have let one in all game against an unbeaten team.
Conish, bless him. I'm thinking of a sentence involving the words "backside", "handed" and "plate".

was an absolute beauty that Gomez laid on Cornish. Cornish isnt that bad, dont see why everyone dislikes him so much, Payette imo is alot more hateable.
weve got Lindsay, imo ive got alot more confidence in him than i ever did with Cruikshanks. sometimes he didnt seem to give a monkeys whilst Lindsay really seems to care everytime i goal goes in and for me puts in alot more effort. id be happy for him to sign again next year, ive admired him from his London days.

I agree on all parts really. Corny is a top guy who just does anything for his team, hes not nasty with it like Payette etc. Lindsay is a very simple goalie, his positioning is good and he does what hes there for, he keeps his positioning and stops the first shot. He gives out rebounds but Ellis knew that and the D man know that. Once everyone gets used to each other im sure Evan will be fine. CC wasnt like that, he could win games on his own but he could lose them just as easily. Im not saying Evan is a great goalie but everyone will know where they stand soon

totally agree Rich, last season everyone knew that if CC had a good game we would probably win but a bad game and we'd almost definitely lose but Lindsay doesnt seem to have that pressure whilst CC was known as one of our stars so he was constantly relied on to perform.

Corney isn't in-fallible, he knows that. The guy is entitled to lose a fight, you gotta respect him for the ones he has won. Fair play to Gomez, its about time he won a fight.....just wish it was Payette he wasted.

Payette and Cornish show the difference between a goon and an enforcer in my eyes.
Cornish knows his role, he knows he is a fighter and after the fight, that is that. Its over until next time. Not saying he wont have regular opponents but its not personal it seems
Payette is a big bloke who cheapshots his way through smaller players and holds grudges (Cote last season)

That doesn't make Lindsay the better player by any means. You say we'd usually win when Cruickers played well but that's true for any team in the league bar the Caps or the Bison. CC constantly performed for us. League-leading stats for 2 years speak for themselves.

Cruikshanks did not constantly perform for us, he lost concentration more than a few occasions, ive never slagged him off and i never said in one of my posts on this thread that Lindsay is the better netty, though in my opinion he is.
alot better players have gone to other clubs than Cruikshank so why do people still seem to be arguing who is the better, at the end of the day if he was such a brilliant netty he'd still be here, i really rated Peitila but i didnt keep going on about it after he'd gone and we got the Sundberg who was by far worse than Pietila, not a swipe at him just my opinion.
he might have had league leading stats but what did that get us, bob all. alot of emphasis was on Cruikshanks last season, he was a big part of our team and imo didnt play that well. this season Lindsay is as little or big a part of the team as anyone else is playing great, like whats been said earlier hes alot more simple playing than Cruikshanks but sometimes simple is better, oh yeah and is a damn site better at comin out of hs net to clear the puck, in Sheffield last year, nightmare.

i can see what you mean about CC, against the Caps hw was unbeatable (almost ;D) saving 49 out of 50 shots, but last night a few soft ones got past him as for Cornish, he goaded Gomez all night to fight and when the game was all but safe for Phoenix Gomez obliged! round 1 easy win for Gomez with a smacking right hand flooring Corny, after medical attention to a cut forehead Corny came back and went virtually straight for Gomez again, (big mistake) once again he got floored only this time Gomez seemed to pull him up to his knee's and continue'd to batter him, this is when Wilson jumped in to stop the pounding JC was taking and then all the players were milling about (not a bench clearance) the big dissapointment was that the lino's should have acted sooner on account of Corny was getting murdered on his knee's and couldn't really defend himself. Gomez has quick hands but i bet he is glad that Ferone is out of the country
