Hope its not another stitch up, with the last game being between 2 continental teams. By then it won't matter. We will already have won our 3 games

Im on the early friday morning BMIbaby, arrives 9:30 Paris time jump onto the train into Paris itself then on the metro to St.Lazare for the 12 o'clock SNCF to Rouen. Hopefully all will run smoothly so I can book into my hotel just after 1:00 . A leisurely stroll across the bridge to the Ice Arena for the first game. Un biere s'il vous plais monsieur .

Talking of schedules. I know that the games in France were only pre-domestic season challenge but they dont appear in the fixtures at all.,why? I except that two of the games were classed as 'void' not being completed but we had one game played fully.
Top marks for the recalculation of the Panthers site standings table. It looks alot better. I really do think this is how the table should look. Not that I have seen many other tables on other sites as I dont really troll through the web pages on PC much. Thats why I saw the Continental schedule here first rather than Panthers own . The league on the Panthers site shows how matches were WON (either in reg time or OT) and same with LOSS too. Mind you I think they ought to get rid of that DRAWN column.Never seen a drawn pen shoot-out yet.
In my volumes of collected detail here at home I have been looking at the old league tables and its hard to look back and understand them point wise. ' 2pts for a regulation win,1pt for a draw or OT loss, 0pts for a loss'....is what the table notes say.I assume you have to guess what you get for an OT win?..(obviously conclusion is 2pts also as reg win but not mentioned). The 01-02 season eludes me too.Assume no OT that season.
Leads me to say whats the format for the Continental Cup.Anyone read up on that one as yet?

Mind you I think they ought to get rid of that DRAWN column.Never seen a drawn pen shoot-out yet. If the two teams were level after regular time, then the game was called off (power cut for example). Would the draw stand? P.S. That table on the Panthers site is similar to the Teletext table on ITV.

Perhaps its time to take an objective look at the Panthers' chances of success in Rouen? Last season's European Club Rankings were as follows: Salzburg 97 Rouen 104 Panthers 154 SondersjyskE 156 Every club has a different squad this year, so let's look at how they have started their respective domestic seasons: Salzburg P2 W2 1st place (of 8) Rouen P4 W2 D1 L1 3rd place (of 14) Panthers P5 W3 WO/T1 LO/T 2nd place (of 10) SondersjyskE P3 WO/T1 L2 8th place (of 9) Budgets: We can't even think of competing with Salzburg & Rouen, but are probably on a par with SondersjyskE. Size of squad: Salzburg 21 (including 3 N/M) Rouen 21 (including 2 N/M) Panthers 18 (including 2 N/M & Ferrara) SondersjyskE 19 (including 2 N/M) Conclusion: My heart says that if we play our very best every game, we could win the group, but my head says 2nd or 3rd place! Whatever, we'll be supporting the guys, and enjoying ourselves! Allez les Panthers!! ;D

Nice analysis, Mythosman.....
However (no offence!) I don't think that it means a thing. The CC in Amiens a couple of years ago.... we had a smaller budget, a shorter bench and a lower ranking than all three of our opponents. Many people were barely giving us credit for getting even a point in the whole tournament... and look what happened, we only lost out on going to the next round on goal difference!
The way this team looks, the never-give-up attitude that they appear to have (what a refreshing change!)... I don't think that there's any guessing as to what might happen.

None taken - in fact I couldn't agree with you more Shaggy! As I said earlier, my heart says we can win this Tournament, despite all the pertinent facts indicating otherwise. If the Form Book was always right, there would be no Bookmakers! It's what makes sport such a terrific test of character, a resource that this year's Panthers appear to have an abundance of. I think a lot will depend on the attitude of the Ref's. In Amiens, they were practising ZT before we had even heard of it, and we fell foul of it on a number of occasions, before getting to grips with their style. At least we should be better prepared for that this time around! What we do know from past experience, is that the French don't like physical hockey particularly, so it needs our guys to get into their faces from the drop of the first puck!

I totally agree with Shaggy, who would have thought wed give milan (Ex NHLers galore) a game or beat Llumbijana(Spelling!).
I really dont mind what the scores are aslong as the team arnt demoralised and it keeps the boys together (and obviously dont get injuries). Oh And the rink dont serve non-alcoholic beer, man that was shocking standing there thinking me John and Pidge had done well handling the beer that day haha

And even then it was because the losing team gave up and caved in to let the eventual group winners run up a score to knock us out *cough*. Who said the Euro's don't like us on the island?
