Taken from todays Daily Telegraph:
"Cardiff Devils coach Ed Patterson has warned the club has a rocky future if they fail to move into their new rink next month. The Elite League season opens this weekend but the closure of the Wales National Ice Rink and delays in completing their new base in Cardiff Bay mean the Devils will play their first nine matches away. Paterson said: "We must make the October 21 date. If we don't, it'll be disastrous."
I know this has been mentioned before, but this sounds like it could affect the long term future of the devils. I really do hope that everything gets sorted for the Devils, as we need all the clubs in the league!

mmm, not one to be cynical here (yeah right i hear you cry!!!) but good ol saviour bobbykins philips got out at just the right time then didnt he!!! What do you mean got out? Do you have any idea the lengths and amount of money and time and effort the Phillips family has gone through the keep the Devils going through this summer? I'll answer that question for you Tex no you havent! and if you did you would never make such a flippant comment. Miriani Phillips deserves several medal's for the amount of work battling council's having a rink fall down and having a rink completely taken away. So how Bob has somehow gotten out while his family are still involved i really really dont know, Bob Himself has also given a lot of time to the Devils in the summer to help Miriani out. Somehow not the actions of people who are looking ot 'get out' of something that they as much as the fans dearly love. Just to inform people about the rink though, there is currently the shell of the building ready and now the inside to be done. The work can go on 24/7 once there are lights on the inside of the building so by early october we are hoping to see it rapidly develop. the club has done marvellously to get us through this difficult patch, and i know the strength of this club united as it has been to get this far will get us through this season!

i am sorry gazza but that was just tooooo easy.... hope things work out for you guys soon. In fact Tex after reading that post i must offer you an apology it was written in haste and came across a little harsh by a pretty worn out Devils fan... I guess seeing things like 'Farm team' (although written in jest i know) get a little tiresome while we are working hard to get things going, and i hate the whole 'Farm team jibe' i was thinking about this today and i saw your post and just bit. I shouldnt have as you got the brunt of my frustrations for other people. Thank you for your comment of support though

Enough said.
There isn't a Panther fan nor, I would suggest, a fan from any other club in the Elite league who don't look forward to the Devils competing safely at the new rink in the bay - as soon as possible.

Seconded. Personally, I can't wait to see my favourite away team on their own (new) ice - getting thrashed by the Panthers, of course!

Apart from being the venue for my all time (non-Wembley) away moment. B+H semi final circa 95. Penalty shootout. Ian Cooper pulled the deke on Robins and thought he'd put it under the pads, went as far as raising his hand to celebrate. Robins did the butterfly and saved - The look on Cooper's face, and the red half of the WNIR, was priceless. Them was the days
