I was having this debate with a couple of people last night down at Bracknell.... I'm amazed so many people seem to think that Murrayfield is a cold rink (I happily walk around there in a t-shirt) - but I keep getting told that people think it's a cold one.
With us being up there in 3 weeks.... what do people think?

... what do people think? I think a thermometer is likely to be more conclusive than a poll

... what do people think? I think a thermometer is likely to be more conclusive than a poll If you're just talking numbers, perhaps.... but different people 'feel' colder than others in any given temperature. Anyway, it's just a light-hearted question.....

I do know my g/f always wears 4 or 5 layers and about a million tights (she doesnt do trousers/jeans) every time she's up there and is still cold......but from what ive heard though after it's recent renovation, the danger at the rink isnt from the cold, but now the condensation dripping from the roofing.

As someone who has been going to Murrayfield for a number of years, the answer to the question is yes and no. If there are lot of fans there, then it can be quite a warm rink, but when only a number of fans go, it does tend to get quite cold. As for the condensation dripping through the roof, we had that last year too, after the weekend of terrible snow when the Belfast game was off/on/off again then back on and with the snow starting to melt, it dripped right down where my friends and I were sitting, so not a very pleasant night for us!!

The Fife rink was a lot colder but it does depend on how many fans are at the game. It certainly wasn't very warm when having to hold an ice pack after being hit by the puck! :-)

When I went last year it was absolutely freezing! I had hat, gloves, scarf, four layers and I was still dithering.

The Correct way too. Not your silly sat nav way of telling you how to get to Yarmouth! I'd have got you there at least 30mins quicker than sat nav did.
Granted i don't say turn left in a sext voice tho!

Certainly can be cold in the Skydome - especially when you drive down there on a sunny September afternoon and misguidedly stroll into the arena in shirt sleeves...... Not wise! ;D

Murrayfield is cold but Blackburn is the coldest rink in the country, first time we went there back in the early 90s we snapped 8 seats just by leaning back on them and ice fel off the back because they were thatcold.......and that was in early September!...............The bar makes up for it there tho' !
