His name has been mentioned on the hockey forum.
Don't know anything about him - or how valid this rumour is but thought i'd mention it.

Jason is my G/F`s 2nd favourite ever steeler lol He played in the ISL , was not very special to be honest but did well when he played in the UHL, now the EIHL is a step down, he should get a pt a game easily Jason`s finist hour came when he scored 2 goals in steelers 3-2 win over Nottingham in 2003 cc final Jason is a instigator, you could liken him to Finnerty ,... all mouth no action!

Sessa is another player that does not fit the bill on a team that has team toughness. I thought it was great in 02-03 when we beat the Steelers 8-2 and Allison jumped him straight off the face off and Sessa didn't get a penalty as he turtled and then Dody Wood jumped him too from the very next face off.
02-03 good times.

Yes it was a wonderful time wasn't it, under acheiving team and a league of only 5 teams.

You forgot to mention record attendances, full houses against the Steelers, five thousand plus against the Giants and still good gates gainst Bracknell and London. Greg Hadden's testamonial got a better crowd than most games against the lower teams last season. By far the most enetertaining season, that team could play some damn good hockey. Nick

Well four actually tex, even though you could go as far as three as Bracknell were pretty pants that year. We would of at least won the CC that year though if it hadn't been for Joel Laing, he was simply amazing at times, best netty I've seen over here.
Back to Jason Sessa, 58 points in 64 games two seasons ago in the CHL. As long as he wasn't anywhere near a top earner and if he is as good an agitator as I remember I wouldn't mind him as our second line RW.

Geez - I must learn to stop scan reading stuff - I thought it said [glow=red,2,300]JASON SPEZZA[/glow] ;D ;D
As to Sessa joining the NYPD, that article was dated December 2007, so it's not inconceivable that he underwent basic training but failed to graduate, and is therefore looking to get back into hockey for a while!
Have to say that I'm not that fussed though - must be equally good, or better players available for the same cost?

Well 4 other teams as we were the 5th, makes me laugh how the Giants fans still go on about the brawl at the O that season and still say thats the reason they hate the Panthers. Entertaining games though but a bit boring playing London...then playing them the week after....then away the next night

At least they were worth watching Higs, if the choice is play London Knights back to back or Hull home Edinburgh away this weekend id be looking forward to seeing us play the knights! I agree though, It was a bit crazy and tiresome in the end.
We showed though that having a tough team can create a buzz and make the NIC a place other teams dread, we just went totally OTT (Adeys lack of experience as a coach IMO) and forgot about balance!
Edit: As for Sessa I like him. Would be happy if we signed him. As Bramley said though, not as a top liner or a top earner. As far as second line wingers go though he would be right up there

From what I remember, I didnt think he was all that special when he played for us. Used to miss a hell of a lot of (easy) chances through memory. He also used to get a lot of 10 minute misconduct calls as well from shouting his mouth off.
In terms of an agitator, I would rather have Finnerty.

He was in a far better league then, against better d men too. Hes posted good numbers since he left sheffield Id have him as a 2nd line winger Finnerty wouldn t have lasted 5 minutes in the ISL i tell you

Im sure one game i think I saw him miss the net on 3-4 chances where it was easier to score and then get 10 mins for shouting his mouth off. Finnerty is a known quantity, works hard and agitates well. Didnt take anywhere near as many penalties as he did at the start of the season. That for me is why he is so good at what he does. He winds people up, and seems to have worked out how to not take as many penalties while he does it. He also chips in with good secondary scoring so cant complain!

Personally looking into it, I think this rumour is pie in the sky/non starter myself

Panthers were rumoured to be signing him the first time he came to britain and he ended up at sheffield so make of it what you will but i can't see him coming back.
