The end! Oh well. At least my first impression this year isn't "Oh my god we've got a team of dwarves!"

My immediate thoughts....
Winning a fair few face offs.
Lindsay isnt filling me with confidence to say the least
Video was too small to tell who was who so i cant really comment individuals... Though im sure blaz never took face offs last season.

Don't think they'll cover another team's game.

Did anyone else notice that Calle was playing too. Only watched the last period, but i thought Lindsay was a bit slow to get up, hope thats going to change during the new season.

yeah i thought calle was playing, won't be tomorrow if McAslan is in.
Lindsey also seem to stand up really tall when the puck in is the zone on the point, surely making it harder to get down??

Panthers Web Page
SMILES IN DEFEAT
The GMB Nottingham Panthers took the first period in Morzine by two goals to nil but eventually lost to the home club 6-3.
Goals from Matus Petricko and James Cooke saw Nottingham dominate the first period but tired legs took over in the second and third. Morzine hit five without reply before James Neil scored Panthers final goal of the evening.
Head coach Mike Ellis told the club hotline afterwards : "I was pleased with everyone. We showed a lot of spirit in the first period but legs were shaking come the second. That's what we're here for...to get fit for the Elite League campaign.
"We're in high spirits, everyone is happy. Morzine have had around 20 practises and five games under their belts. It was a great achievement to win a period. Morzine are a good solid hockey team and I thought we were the better team in the first period and for a couple of minutes in the second and third periods. At this stage we've only got enought fitness for twenty minutes but we will be at full fitness by the end of the camp and the start of the league campaign."
The coach has scheduled a mountain bike ride for Thursday morning and then they travel to Geneva to take on Chris McSorley's side.

Who got the MoM ?
Were Welch + Drouin playing for Morzine? If so, did they score any of the goals?!

Unfortnately, didn t get chance to see any of th game as i was at work, but it was only ther first preactice match TOGETHER im confident they will build stronger as a unit .
If Morzine have played 5 games already youd expect them to have the jump on us .
This is all good practice for the long term

Interesting that Cookie and James Neil were two of our scorers.... looks to me like Mike Ellis was (sensibly IMHO) giving everyone a fair crack of the whip instead of just putting out lines most designed to win it straight....
Also gives me hope that both of those two might see plenty of quality ice time this season.
