A certain ex-Panthers no.2 with a Stanley Cup ring has been talking with Mr Black. I beleive he maybe available and if true I would love to see him behind the bench rather than the excuse we have at the moment standing behind there Mr Clueless....

I'd certainly find it hard to argue against Jim becoming our coach, mainly due to him being probably my favourite player for the team.

That would be awesome if Jimmy came over here after being assistant coach to an AHL side. However for that reason i can't see it happening.

off topic, but Derek Laxdel would be a good choice if Jimmy wasn't available.

Anyone working with the wings organisation will find a move away very difficult, Jim would be a superb choice though

Why would a young coach leave the AHL to come over here?? His coaching career is on the way up, not down.

I would like Aldridge from Bison to be the new coach. Why? Is more inexperienced than Ellis and was Ellis' bitch at Bracknell..

As Jim is on the coaching team with the Red Wings farm team and he has a contract for next season which has been taken over by the Redwings who are "grooming him" for moving into their organisation,
I couldn`t see him coming here next season.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there Carolle! Why on earth would Jim want to take a huge backward career step, no matter how much he may like Nottingham? Sometimes, I think we may over-estimate our Club's importance in the hockey world! Most of Canada doesn't even know we play the game!!

You would need your "head reading" if you left there to come to us!

Ellis wont win us the league and 50% of the time his teams play dull hockey, we may aswel lose and be entertained with hard hitting, good old fashioned hockey!

Nice idea, but surely staying with the Wings rather than waiting in them.

So my parents had a chat with JP last night in Toronto. He simply said "no comment". I think his AHL team whose name escapes me lost 2-0 to the Tornoto Marlies. They said he had a lot of fond memories about the team and that's about it.

I never rated paek when he played here, big slap shot but backed down on the pk all the time and even though would block shots shyed away when the bigger forwards in the league gave him some attention plus the team he is with in ahl are 0.406 in wins this season not exactly mind blowing !.

You never rated Jimmy "two Stanley cup rings" Paek, one of the best players to step foot on these shores. End of.
Well imo anyway

the only thing i didnt like about jimmy paek was his skating style
just looked weird to me
but was a good player for us
who knows he might come if he gets a head coach gig for a bit
compare us to the ECHL
would it be that muCh of a step back from assistant coach in the AHL to a head coach job in the ECHL
