As they crashed out of the Carling Cup at the hands of Arsenal.
If you don't want to the see the score look away now,
Anfield, Liverpool Liverpool 3 Arsenal 6
Liverpool Goals: Fowler, 33 Gerrard, 68 Hyypia, 80
Arsenal Goals: Aliadiere, 27 Julio Baptista, 40 Song Billong, 45 Julio Baptista, 45, Julio Baptista, 60 Julio Baptista, 84
It's along time since I've seen two entertaining games from a neutral perspective, but it reminds me of the Liverpool v Newcastle encounters from the mid 90's. I'll probably never say this again so enjoy it, Well done Arsenal.

Not bad for Arsenal U21s. When you consider the youngsters they've got on loan at Brum it is easy to see why Wenger is ready to let Freddy follow Pires, Edu, Vieira, Cole, Dennis and Sol out the door. Lauren will probably follow.

Julio Baptista was sublime. I remember al the hype about him before he went to Spain. I also knew he'd be a good player, just as I did about the young Gremio (BRA) playmaker who went on to be known as Ronaldinho. There was also some bloke Man Utd wanted to sign in the mid 90's from Bordeaux. I think his name was Zidane....

Diego something or other.
