Excellent appointment. They only way is up for the ammers. Statistically the worst manager in the EPL this season. Yes worse than Reed at Charlton. And all this after burning £18m on average players. Apparently some West Ham fans are calling for him to go and to bring in Brooking to try to rescue the club. Makes sense to me. Should've got Billy Davies from Derby. Get rid before he does any more damage. Beat me to it! Curbishley is a great manager, its great to have him and Martin O neil back in the premiership! I have to say tho his first interview was far from inspiring! He was saying he didnt wanna be a championship manager and the owner was talking top3 and europe and 60,000 seat stadium lol, nothing like singing from the same hymn sheet! Still think he's a great manager?? I think it is now 2 points in last 7 games and a defeat in the Eon Cup on top. Give the man a chance. His two main signings have both been injured in the first half of their debuts and he's only been in charge for a couple of months. The club was in freefall before he took over, he's got a job similar to that of Pardew at Charlton. I'd go as far as saying they're possibly unsaveable this year. They will bounce back up next year though.

They will bounce back up next year though. Boa Morte? Davenport? Just spoken to a WHam fan and he says it is far worse than under Pards. He was ther at Villa and said it was astonishingly bad and are as good as down. He also thinks it'll be tough to bounce up. And will Curbs be around? Remember Curbs has spent £18m of LOANED money. They have to pay it back with 10% interest. He could do a Leeds to the club. No wonder the owners are looking to sell their land and move ground. And Charlton were in a far worse position when Pards took over. And Charlton have 8 points in their last 7 games (two of which were v Arsenal and Chelsea). That's why Charlton have clawed back 6 points on West Ham and are dead level now.

No, Upson and Neill.
My point was that Charlton and Wham will go down i dare say.

To spend £18m and still fail to keep them up would be outrageous. Makes Warnock look like a God in comparison. And Jewell.
Harry saved Pompey from a far position than Curbs had.
The bottom line is that they are apparently getting worse not better.

that would have been an acheivement. Saints fans arent bothered too much now, theyve got derbys drunk excellent scottish manager, derbys most prolfic goal scorer for years (that we sold for nothing, gets loaned out to a rival and gets sold on the cheap to the same manager at a different club!) & our set piece expect that we gave away. Playoff win, looking good!

Sunny, there is no chance on heaven or earth that Charlton are staying up. Looking at their remaining fixs I'd say they could drag Wigan, Sheff or City into it. Pards is doing a great job. No wonder both sets of supporters were singing his name on Saturday. And he's done it with no money too.

I'd still say that Charlton and West Ham are doomed.
As for Pardew, his record since taking over stands at LLWDLLW, he's not doing that great a job. The Wham result at the weekend was impressive, but they're a diabolically poor side.

West Ham are lucky not to be bottom of the table at this stage, only a poor Watford side has saved them of that.
I think Pardew is doing a pretty good job at Charlton but im not convinced it will be enough to save them from the drop.
I agree with Sunbeam that Wigan, Sheff U and Man C are nowhere near out of it yet but Charlton are going to struggle to pick up enough points to close the gap on them imo.
Sheffield United and Wigan are playing on the last day of the season, that one really could be a crucial game!

The Wham result at the weekend was impressive, but they're a diabolically poor side. His league record is LDWLLWDLLW. His defeats came home and away to Boro, at Arsenal and Man U and home to Chelsea. They drew at high-flying Bolton, drew home to Fulham, and the 3 wins were at Pompey and home to Villa and WHam. So that's 3 games v the Big 4 and games at Bolton and Pompey. A tough fixs run and they've closed the gap on teams above. Fixtures left ain't bad! Note the 6 pointers. His league record is LDWLLWDLLW. Not right actually, to be fair, he wasn't there for the first defeat. He was appointed a day later. You can't just remove a defeat in the FA Cup to a L1 side, they were appalling that day. He's doing a decent job at Charlton but he's got too much to do, they're dead as Dodo's.

The FA Cup sponsored by Eon defeat is about as relevant as the once-great competition is. They're not Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal or Man U so they know they're only in it to make some quick cash. As for too much to do.. Probably but since they're still to play Watford, Wigan, Shuff and City..........

They put out the best side they could and were humiliated by League One opposition. I struggle to see how that is irrelevant to how well their manager is doing...?
They'll beat Watford and Wigan, but Shuff and City will have too much for them. Can't see them picking up many points in the others either.

He'd only recently taken over and you've got to question how bothered the players were in that game. It wasn't an important game. Bent is back and that is a key difference. Also they now have form, momentum and some belief. They need probably 38 points to have a chance. Every game bar the last looks winnable to me. And loseable.

I'm still shocked they scored 4 times in one match.
Nothing in last month has suggested the Charlton squad was capable of that.
Positive signs. Just hope they don't get carried away with it.

But are you at all suprised that West Ham conceded 4 goals in a game? A truely demoralising defeat for them today! 2-0 up at half time, 3-2 up with 5 mins to go, then they lose 4-3. The fat lady is warming up for the 'ammers! Nice to see Tevez score at last, was half expecting him to get a yellow for taking his shirt off and a yellow for jumping into the crowd
