One of the chats mentions Ellis to Belfast. Has anyone heard anything on this? Has there been any development at all on contracts for him or any of our players?

On a previous thread Nem (I think) said Belfast were looking further south than Nottingham for their new coach. That means Thompson, Aldridge or Adams. You can rule Thompson out, and I would be surprised if Adams would want to move from Cardiff to Belfast, so that leaves Aldridge.

Hasn't he already signed for Basingstoke again?

Hasn't he already signed for Basingstoke again? You don't know what is in his contract though. There could be a get out clause involved if a bigger team comes for him.

The latest I have heard on the old journo drums is that is is unlikely ME will be going although we are told there will be a meeting after the playoffs to sort it all out. Don't think ME is sitting idle though it is my understanding that he is working with a view to being back with you next year and is planning accordingly.

Given the ex Belfast players their, it might have some legs I'm sure there's only Steve Thornton thats an ex-Giant in the Bison roster this year? Really can't see our new coach being Ellis or Thompson and i'm not sure having a coach called Gerry Adams would go down too well in these parts! My money is on Dutiaume as player/coach with Ellis staying in Notts.

After Neil Blacks recent ill judged outburst, it's unlikely anything will be said publically one way or the other until after the playoffs.

Would give the club a great boost if it was BEFORE the playoffs.
As Mike said about Matos signing at Sheffield ..it gives the players an incentive to play for their places next season

It could be that NB has made an offer and ME accepted it.
It could just be the announcement is being timed for a specific moment... ME's speech on the balcony after we win the playoffs...
Announcements are not dictated by when the event happens. with the PR and spin machines that are involved on our sport, it will be announced when it best suits the club (Or is leaked...)

It was me who said look south for Belfast's new coach, so far as I`m aware this is still the case. Who said it was an existing head coach they are talking to

I suppose it would be a bit daft, aldridge signing a new contract recently and then going to belfast.
