tbh i would have clarkie with myers and levers for the simple fact that it isn't often that clarkie passes so being on a line with wally and molin would be very frustrating for the both of them.

If we can afford him, i don't see why we won't sign him.

IF steelers can pay for a player in milk bottle tops and fluff I can't see why we can't pay the same for Clarke.
He's already earn't season's earnings over in Italy.

I'd heard a while ago that the Panthers paid for all of DCs private physio while he was recovering from his injury last year which - if true - might suggest that we're holding an option on him.

The quarter finals of the Italian playoffs start on March 8th, it's a best of 5 series so at the earliest Clarke's season will be finished on March 13th if Alleghe were to lose the first three games. If they were to go all the way to the final, it could go on until April 12th. The dates are here www.hockeytime.net/calendario/index.php?date=regolamento

All I think is.... yes he is a great player, and yes he could help us win the play-offs... but why should we only bring him back to win them?? If he could help us win that, then he could have helped us win the league. It just doesnt seem right that we are picking and choosing when to bring him in. I want us to win the play-offs more than anything; but the team since september has been good enough to play with until now, so why change?

Do you think the playoff victory was a false victory? As it was Gallant who scored his PS?

What total and utter tripe. So, last season, when we brought Gallant in purely for the play offs ... that was a false victory was it? Seemed all fair and above board to me. And, if Shuff win the play offs, do you happen to think they'll see it as a false victory having brought in Tessier for Cornish? Somehow, I doubt it.

its an extra boost at the end of the season. i'd rather have seen clarkie come back from the beginning of the season and have the team get there on their own merit as one. but i understand sports dont work that way.
i think false victory was the wrong phrase to use, but if clarkie came back now and panthers won, it wouldnt be as good if we won it with the team we have played with for most of the season. did i explain it better this time?

Fair enough.... we didnt win the league. Winning isnt everything, (no I would not have been complaining if we DID win the league) but we didn't. I just see it as, a true fan would support their team whether we won or lost? Its still our same team, so it just doesn't seem right that we want to bring in Clarke just for the play-offs. Thats why I'm trying to get to. We didnt give up on the team up til now, so why should we put all our hopes on Clarke coming back?? We still ended up third/fourth.. we won the challenge cup without him, so obviously we do have the goods... its just how we go about it!

Correct a true Fan would support there team whether we won or Lost. A fan would want there team to win every game. Just to point out, do you not think that the team has been spoiled from game 1 this season? Look at the players who were not Panthers that first game... Askey, Coleman, Nelson, & Bergin. Does the introduction of these players not sully the Challenge cup victory? It didn't for me. Or Gallant / Rasto / Cardarelli last season for the PO Trophy. I want Ellis to put out the best team he has available. If that means a player who is payed in fluff & Bottle tops (Going rate for top end players coming in this season ) Then I am all for it. IF (and this is a big if) Somehow a Top NHL'er signed for the playoffs and scored 50 Goals per game, dropped back and we didn't concede any goals, THAT would Sully my trophy. Believe me if we're making enquires; you can guarantee that Shuff are. I would even stretch to say Blaze / Giants.

Clarke's Italian season is over as Alleghe lost the best of five series 3-1.
