To be fair doesn't every coach ask ex coaches and some ex team mates about players? So they want to spin MWBs answer, so what? Let them get on with it. It's just good to see that the Spin crown has moved North this year. Ahh so you think Mastos wanted to sign him and nothing to do with him being, erm... 'encouraged to sign him' shall we say Well if what you're alluding too is accurate, then it hardly speaks volumes for Matsos as a coach does it.

Personally I thought Sutter was a big disappointment last season after being touted to be a goalscorer he failed to deliver. He just lacks that extra bit of speed and that quick release that top players have. I think he'll do a decent job but I wouldn't rate him as anything more than a decent player.

He was never a prolific goalscorer, and that's NOT why he was brought in by Nottingham.

How anyone can say he gave 100% every game (including MWB), truly beats me. From where I was sitting he rarely gave 50%. I am delighted Sheffield have signed him as he was the one player I desperately didn't want to see back - bar Sebastian of course. As for MWB, I can only think Sutter Senior has got a 'secret never to be told' on him. First MWB takes Sutter junior and kicks out Welch (who did give 100%) & now he finds another job for his son. The only other explanation is that MWB thinks that by being nice to Sutter Senior, he might find MWB a job!!!!!!!!!! ________________________________________________ Forum rules 1) No bad language. One of my biggest bugbears with Sutter last season was his failure to play two way hockey. His efforts to regain the puck and to get back and help in defence were non-existent.

Not a signing that particularly excites me, especially after reading the comments on here and having a look at his fairly average stats. I thought our last 2 signings needed to be decent quality goalscorers (say a point a game average in ECHL) if we were genuinely going to challenge the top teams. On a positive note from a Steelers point of view, he is only 26 and his stats do seem to be improving season on season. As a team we certainly don't seem to have the fire power of Coventry, Belfast and Nottingham, so the best I can hope for is that all the players gel as a team and the whole turns out to be greater than the sum of the parts. I'm still looking forward to the start of the season because I think this could turn out to be the tightest yet Regards Doom

If so, a high scoring 2nd line winger is required then?

Sutter is a second line player, certainly not 1st line, us Panfers can vouch for that. Regards HL

Maybe not the biggest signing ever but has potential to be another who bits us on the bum when we play sheffield. makes the rivalry a little more exciting which can only be good, I hope our boys know what the rivalry means

Reaction?
Maybe he won't get one..ha
Had to laugh when his girlfriend was on the TV saying they'd like to be back at Nottingham this season.

Average signing at best by the Steelers...I didn't think Sutter was that bad but certainly not sorry to see him go.
Two absolute pearlers from Shaun though...
Dream on Sheffield, the fans who didn't even show up the night after winning 7-0 away against their arch rivals.
Don't flatter yourself Shaun...there was a reason you weren't offered a new deal.

Sutter reminded me of Dody Wood in bad way, lazy, not bothered couldn't find the net from anywhere in the zone.
