doesnt it just highlight the "went to a fight and a hockey game broke out" kind of attitude though from the press...
still think wwf in hockey is wrong, fights break out everyone knows that and accepts it but jeez this is just OTT surely?....

Sometimes, but rumour has it you get a delay of the game penalty if you do.

It is not the NHL it's a minor league in Quebec. It's what the fans pay there $14 to see. The league does not get much coverage from the press so I wouldn't worry too much about the uproar. The only people who seem to get upset are the one's who don't understand the game. Here's a nice article about the league and Steve Bosse and Jon Mirasty. slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Hockey/News/2007/03/17/3770120-cp.htmlI don't see how you can compare the league to the WWF. The players don't skate round with steel chairs and the lino's don't drop to the ice to make a 3 count. Oh yeah and the fights are real. Im not claiming it's everybodys cup of tea or every league should be like this but there is a market for rough, tough, crash bang physical hockey as many people find the new ZT non contact ice hockey is boring.

Awesome post Zukiwskyfan, Its not for everyone just like "euro" hockey isnt for everyone. I dont see clips of nice fancy system play from the swedish elite league appearing on forums all over the world tho.... That maybe true Peacock but the likes of PC Drouin and Ian Mcintyre have played over there to name but 2 so you cant just generalise. They play ice hockey at a good standard but then send the goon lines out to keep everyone else entertained. It just so happens that you dont see clips of the hockey on the net

Round 2 of the play offs sees Sherbrooke vs St Georges and the match up everybody wanted to see with the leagues biggest rivals St Jean vs Sorrel. St Jean lead Sorrel 2 games to 0 and The Sherbrooke v St Georges series is tied at 1. Game 1 between St Jean and Sorrel saw round 6 between Steve Bosse and Jon Mirasty. Those guys really do not like each other and another big win for Bosse. www.lhspfightsrock.com/april18/BosseVsMirasty.htmThe other fights from the game can be found here www.lhspfightsrock.com/videos.htmlSt Jean are playing there home games from now on at the old House Of Pain in Laval.

Oops strayed into a boxing thread. But before I go back to the ice hockey threads just like to note, to Rich in particular, that I see clips of ice hockey play all the time all over the web whereas the fights are on the same old same old sites. Ever heard of the Stanley Cup? No, its not a boxing trophy......

not really. Look at the penalty minutes from the second and third periods.... im sure we have higher scoring penalty minutes. Not on average but if we had a physical league then im sure those sort of penalties wouldnt be out of the ordinary. I like the 'Second fight in the same stoppage of play' penalty

Ever heard of the Stanley Cup? No, its not a boxing trophy...... You reckon? Out of a 60min game a couple of mins are fighting yet you dont see 30times more breakouts and passes than fight clips?! I admit the LNAH gets a bit too much but then the euro leagues dont have enough, thats why I like our league and I go to watch the panthers most weeks, I love the game as we know it. Stanley cup, im not hooked this season because my team the flyers arnt in it but yeh Il keep more of an eye on that than the LNAH playoffs. I respect the LNAH because the standard of hockey is very good and in a world of correctness and ZT its great to see such an old school league

The ones for whom actual hockey is secondary? Maybe so but they get the crowds and as I said when they get on with the hockey its a very good standard but people dont see those clips all over the net

no for ones that like to see hockey but also with guaranteed physical game.
one of my favourite skilfull players played over there last season, Eric Charron, you could hardly call him a goon.

Nick He played in that league this season Nick, icing for St. Hyacinthe Top Design, scoring 2+6 I enjoy the fisticuffs once in a while, but personally, I'd prefer to see players utilising their skating & stick control than a couple of meat heads smashing each other to bits. It's still hockey either way.
