Decent player at UK standard. Can't hurt them to get him back. I vote yes

I think he will make a difference ....as for how much, we will have to see. (Hopefully not any at all).

i don't think he will make much difference at all after the boost of having him back(moral wise) wears off

Seriously Tim? You dont think it will make any difference?! Well maybe he'll be a flop, but chances are he will have a real positive impact for them.
They have (IMO) the best all round player from last season's EIHL re-joining them, a guy who was the leading points scorer in the league and excellent defensively, to play with players he combined with to great effect last season, and they dont even have to get rid of anyone to bring him in!
If, say Jason Ruff signed for the Panthers would you say he wont make any difference to them either!
Personally, I hope Dutes shows us the form he has had over the past 2 years, as he is a top quality player. At the same time I hope he can do that without the Steelers managing to win anything though !!

He will improve the side, but he can only be as good as the players around him. If they aint providing the ammo...blah! blah!. He wasn't the amazing success in Italy, that he & many hoped, added to the fact that he's got NO Blaisdell to drag those sterling performances out of him any more. Time will tell.

I think he is a great player, but he cant do it all on his own. If the players around him play well, then yes he will make a difference, but if he dont gel well with them, then he might not make such a big difference.
Like when Jinman came back last season, he played great but i dont think he played as well as he did the season before.

someone of his quality is definatly going to make a difference but no-one can expect him to do it on his own, i think he will prove to be a good re-signing for the squeelers!

I'm amazed anybody has voted 'no'.
If the question had been 'Will Mark Dutiaume will make the Steelers serious Championship contenders?', then I could understand some people saying no, but quite obviously he will improve our team.
At the moment we have no fire power on our 2nd line (Peron, Lefebvre and Sample), but if you substitute Dutiaume for either Sample or Lefebvre, not only will Dutiaumes goal production be greater than either of those two individuals, but you'll also see Peron starting to score a few more.
Not only that, but at the moment our powerplay is probably the poorest in the league, that will undoubtedly change when Dutes rejoins us becasue that was one of his strengths.
I don't expect us to contest the Championship this season, we now have too much catching up to do, but I do think we'll be seriously competing for the other trophies now.

I was hoping Dutes wouldn't be the same player as last season without Blaiser to drive him. Unfortunately, against Blaze tonight he showed quite a bit of his form from last season, well in the first period at least. He made the Steelers first goal with a delightful pass out from behind the net - a class play. He scored their second with a a simple but confident finish on the PP. On the evidence of tonights' game at the Skydome I'd say the Steelers have sertainly improved since I last saw them whereas Coventry didn't impress overly. If we are playing Blaze in the CC semi rather than the Steelers think I'm happy enough with that on tonights showing.
