Keith 'Ketchup' Tkachuk joins from St Louis in exchange for Glen Metropolit + 2007 1st / 3rd round pick + 2008 2nd round pick.
Alexi Zhitnik joins from the Flyers in exchange for Braydon Coburn.
I think that's smart business....

Zhitnik for Coburn could prove to be a very poor deal for the Thrashers.

Zhitnik for Coburn could prove to be a very poor deal for the Thrashers. Acquiring him and moving Sutton off the top line just improved Atlanta big time Coburn never really improved with us and was getting very little ice time (if playing at all) and we've been stock piling young guys for 7 years now so there's plenty to give away Coburn needed to see pastures new and we needed to get Sutton down to number 3 to make us better now. This is exactly what a trade should look like between a play off and non play off contender and we are finally the one buying ;D

Zhitnik has had glowing reports about him on the Thrashers message board (below). He broke up a 3 on 1 play midway through the 1st if you remember? "Just by watching tonight's game Zhitnik looks like a level above any of the rest of our dmen which is kinda scary if you think about it"Zhitnik, he's strong and solid and made tons of great plays out there. His passing ability is just what we needed on the backline.
