I don’t know if this has been mentioned before but ESPN took over NASN last month. Apparently they will be re-branding it in due course.
Hopefully this will mean that it might be free or at least cheap. Really depends on what ESPN plans to do in the UK. The network could buy up some international football, golf, cricket, tennis etc and start to have a real presence here. If it’s free.

Watch this space I guess to be honest i'm a bit apprehensive as ESPN have shown little or no interest in Hockey in the U.S. In fact they don't even show it anymore i think its al;l on the nbc network and various others, hope they don't go by that ethos overhere and get ri of what little NHL i get to see

Since they can't get the NFL or NBA yet there is little chance they will drop sports. I would not be surprised if you even see Euro hockey soon. Plus other non-American leagues. Maybe non-American sports. I expect a more European flavour to be added to boost local interest throughout their European markets. Maybe seperate ESPN USA and an ESPN Europe stations to go with ESPN Classic.

ESPN laughed at the NHL after the lock out when they quoted silly money to keep the contract, that's why it's not on ESPN not necessarily because ESPN don't want it.
Still, what sunny says is most likely true.
