The casino licence deal which would have seen a new arena for the Penguins built in Pittsburgh has been rejected by officials in favour of another group who haven't included a new arena as part of their deal. The Penguins franchise's future is Pittsburgh now looks to be on very shakey ground indeed. I wonder where they'll end up? Another Sun Belt franchise ( ) or with the new CBA in place a possible return to Canada? I'd much prefer it if they could do something to keep them in Pittsburgh personally.

I personally think they ll relocate away from pittsburgh. I know there was talk of seattle setting up a franchise but i don t think that was going to be at the expence of Pittsburgh

That's pretty much what I was thinking. American geography isn't my strongest suit and was unsure whether it would be Detroit ,Chicago or possibly even Nashville that would be the easternmost western conference team if you follow me.

I think Nashville and Columbus are both further to the east than Detroit but the Red Wings moan about their lack of games against the Leafs so that's why I think they'd be the team moving in the other direction if the Pens went to Kansas City. I really don't want them to leave Pittsburgh having been a fan of the Hartford Whalers but at the moment I can't see them staying. :-\

Detroit and Columbus are pretty much level, Columbus virtually due south so it would be one of those two to move. I'd presume Detroit too in order to put another genuine powerhouse in the East due to the seeming higher strength of the West.

..The Red Wings moan about their lack of games against the Leafs.. But then we would have to play half decent teams and we'd.....I mean.. Yeah, put us wings anywhere in the league. We'll only win anyway Who said sarcasm was the lowest form of wit? No seriously, terrible for the penguins. They've got some great up-and-coming talent which IMO should stay in Pittsburgh.
