New era for us dark disciples starts tonight with John Stevens taking charge of the Flyers for the first time. The game is the first of a 5 game homestand and he could have a prolonged honeymoon period. If he isn't up to the job then believe me the Philly fans will waste no time in letting him know.
Best wishes Mr Stevens and GO FLYERS

Excellent win against a good Thrashers side. Nice to see Forsberg sticking a couple in as well

Probably one of the worst ever. Certainly in the 5 seasons i've been following them it appears that way.

Apparently no one has filled the leadership role made void by the retirement of Priemeau. It'll be interesting to see how good Forsberg is as a captain in that locker room.
As a side note, Hatcher is en route to having a +/- of -115 this season.
What a pylon!

Oh my lord, this is getting embarassing. At least we're going to get the pick this year. Tell me about it Dan Esche starts the game and misses as many as he saves. 4 GA from 8 shots in the first. Niittymaki then makes 20 saves from 21 shots. Absolutely abysmal.

I really cannot see this team turning it around, when you see us getting tonked by last years whipping boys at home you have to fear for the future. I propose major changes at the deadline. Build a brand new team around Nitty, Pitkanen, Meyer, Forsberg, Gagne and Calder (not started well but he'll improve). Many Flyers fans have given up on this season already!

Another night, another defeat. Another 30-odd shots, another 1 goal performance.
They had 20 shots last night and scored three. With the Toronto and Isles games put together, we've had 70 and scored two.

With the Toronto and Isles games put together, we've had 70 and scored two. The Flyers had 40 shots against the Leafs, but couldn't solve Andrew Raycroft, that's all. It was an even game which the Leafs took advantage of having a goalie who was on his game. Last night was a different matter as the Flyers' effort simply wasn't evident until scoring late in the 3rd period. If your team had put half as much effort into the 1st & 2nd periods as they did in the 3rd, you'd have probably won.

I don't think it was a matter of solving Raycroft, it was more the case that we can't shoot away from the body (such as the top corner). We had the shooter tutor out in the week, only Ben Eager could make the top corner successively. How embarassing.

Philadelphia had 41 shots and played well against the Leafs but Raycroft stone walled you, as he did with the Sabres last weekend. Go and look at the high lights of the game, your forwards had plenty of chances to score but couldn't due to raycroft's play. as opposed to blaiming your players, why not give credit where it's due?

Oh and there's a rumour going around that Kapanen may be on his way to Toronto, as the Leafs have a number of good young & mobile defensemen, something which the Flyers lack. It's speculated that the trade might involve Ian White, which if it does and Kapanen becomes a Leaf, you'll hear the loudest expletive possible

Clearly, making 40 shots requires talent, not just luck but it's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. We keep shooting to the crest, that's our major problem. It isn't just the Toronto game, we've done it pretty much every game this month. For some reason we keep going low when going high is proven to be much more successful.

I think we certainly deserve some luck. We've gone from losing and playing badly to losing 50% of the time and playing pretty well. If you can get highlights Shin, check out the saves from Nitty and then from Brodeur last night, stunning stuff.
