Do you still have to wear a cage if you're over 18 and playing for the NIHC?

But I believe if you were born before the 1 Jan 1975 you don't have to wear any face protection. If you were born after, you must wear half visor. That was last seasons rule, so I don't know if this automatically changes to 1 Jan 1976. Don't quote me on that!! There is a pdf of the new rule book at the www.eiha.co.uk

Basically the same thing but any player born after december 31st 1974 must wear a half visor as a minimum.

Wouldn't recommend a half visor, when you get an opponents stick up there, its very difficult to get it out. As the opponent wiggles their stick, you could lose an eye. Plus, despite all that, the amount of sticks and pucks I've had in my face, I'm glad for a full visor. I've got to keep my beautiful looks now

is it not harder to breath in full visor? i mean does it mist up more?

I have a half visor half cage thing, it doesn't mist up so much. One little tip, don't get visor de-mister. Smear a little bit of shampoo over the visor and wipe off. Its just as good, and much cheaper! Or you could use shower gel...
I hated cages as the bars kept blocking my line of sight. Once I got a visor, I've never gone back. Oh, and to protect it in my kit bag, I got a small hand towel (from the bathroom) and sewed up the sides so it became a bag! Cos the towel is fluffy it really protects it.
And you know, I don't write into those womens magazines. I do sound like it tho... and to get rid of a red wine stain, drop a little bit of lemon juice, let it sit for 5 days... ;D ;D ;D

Mouth guards help prevent concussions they offer VERY minimal protection for teeth

Nothing's infallible, people have to remember that no matter how Gucci their kit is there's always a chance of injury!

I broke my collar bone, and nothing could've prevented that. I just lost conciousness due to a hit on the head and fell on the ice. Plus I tore my groin in a rather enthusiastic lunge for the puck (and then played in a tournament and got tendonitis!) Unforunately no one pays me ( ***Advert*** If anyone wants to sponsor me, please let me know!! I can do appearances for free!! I have recently done an advert for Nokia, play for Streatham and Wales and generally a really nice and friendly person! Puckbunnies need not apply! Please PM me with your idea/requests/donations

You should know better If you can afford it go to the dentist and get one made up. The off the shelf jobs are awful, and you will probably end up gagging all night with it in. Unfortunatly I cant afford it but will get it done soon!

I've found only the cheap off-the-shelf gumshields are bad, I got a shock doctor one and it's really good. You can get some which are flavoured, but I haven't ever tried them but that should stop gagging!
