Radio Nottingham has announced that Roman Tvrdon needs surgery on his shoulder and is to leave Panthers.
Both parties are said to be happy with the arrangement.

Well that solves a problem. Shame we never had the opportunity to see what he could do though Hope the operation is a success for him and he continues to build a good career in the game. Maybe we will see him play to his potential in Nottingham one day

Good News/Bad News
Good Luck Roman. Hope to see you down here next year so that you can show us all what you really can do
I guess this means Big Mac is staying?

I guess the other players who are struggling for goals can sigh a big sign now Shame we didn't get to see what he could do * it appears that his legacy will be one of not impressing people too much, which isn't his fault...And yes, I class myself amongst those fans not impressed by him. Hopefully this'll mean we keep McKenna...?

Link to Gary Moran interview about Roman going is here on the BBC Nottingham web-site. Gary Moran interviewListening to it now. Very insightful & I ask Gary that the club do more of these interviews. Gary says that McKenna will stay with us pending the start of (any) NHL hockey Paul Moran might skate during the warm up tonight too, so that's good news too...and Gary's just said London DID play a player they shouldn't of against us

Shame. Would have been nice to see what he could do. But still, dilemma over I guess. All the best with the op. Roman!

The UPs and Downs of Hockey.
The Downs All The best Roman hope everything goes OK with the Op. Like most I don't think we saw the true potential of him, the speed the fast wrist shot, think a fully fit Roman would have set the league alight and he would have been up with the top point scorers.
The Ups Looks like Big Mac will be with us for a while longer, the dressing room team spirit should be kept sky high and we have a player who is happy to play D as well as up front, I think the longer he sticks around the better he'll get and the points will start to flow.
Certainly looks like he'll be playing D tonight as GM said on the radio that Krulis will not ice due to having the flu.
Once agian
All the best Roman, hope to see you in the Black and Gold of the Panthers again.

I don't recall Adey ever cutting a player so he might be pleased he hasn't had to make a tough decision.
Sadly I was right to warn in the Summer that RT was in danger of being over-hyped. It did him no favours and he certainly wouldn't have benefitted if he'd have returned in place of say Ivan or McKenna.
All the best to the lad nonetheless.

thats very sad news, he was a good player but if he had an injury then we can't sit waiting for him to recover fully, maybe when McKenna leaves when the NHL starts back up again we will sign a new foreigner, i reckon they will, makes sense.

Mckenna isnt actually signed to any NHL team i believe. So when/if the NHL starts up again i believe Mckenna will be staying put which has to be good news for you guys

I'd like to wish Roman all the best ........
Shame we never got to see what he could do, in the pre-season warm up we got a glimpse of what class he could be but he never really shined in any of the games he played

He's an Unsigned Free Agent (UFA), and having chatted to a few people on the Pittsburgh message board, it sounds unlikely that he'd be going back there.

Good luck to him and i hope to see him back here with the Panthers next year. I saw him in training a couple of times, and he has amazing skill, but he just didnt seem to show it in games. Good luck Roman.

Best of luck Roman, and hope all goes well with the op!
It would be great to see him given a "fair pop" at wearing the Black and Gold in the future!

Looks like it's all been said. All the very best Roman, good luck with the op. Agree, all been said. If he needs an op. in a way it's a fortuitous happening. In the end, if someone had to go of the imports it should logically been him anyway as he's been out of action and you don't dispose of another player from a winning team. Saves Adey having to make the decision. All the best Roman.

THREE updates on the Panthers website today and not ONE mention of this. That's poor. You thought they would have mentioned something on the OFFICAL site Maybe telling us about more calendars on sale in 2 weeks time is more important.
