Top re-sign for the giants, injured a lot of last season but stats wise should be the best goalie in the league

They may be sailing close to the wind, but quite frankly they don t look much of a team, more of a few sprinkled individuals id say, i await the dressing room fall outs there

Good signing for the Giants... and for the rest of us, better than them getting Gage, as had been rumoured. All this stuff about Minard being the best netminder next season does make me laugh, though... as if any of us have the faintest idea at this stage! Plus it will also depend on the defence in front of him... I suppose this goes hand-in-hand with the immense amount of talking-up of their team coming from some of the Giants fans... they're going at it so much, I'm wondering who exactly they are trying to convince - us or themselves! Belfast have got some seriously good talent on their roster - especially in the forwards - but they look to have one major weakness.... a serious lack of depth in the roster. With only 2 tried-and-tested British players (including Leigh Jamieson, who quite frankly isn't as good as some would have us believe) they are going to be running very short on players. Just one or two injuries, and they could be well and truly screwed. If it is true (as I've heard) that Colin Shields has turned them down... they could be in big trouble later on in the season. (There's also talk of potential dressing-room problems... mainly centred around Dutiaume and Hutchins. Not knowing the details, I'm not going to make any judgements on that one either way... but if it is true, that could be worse than it would be with another coach... Ed Courtenay hardly being the most restrained individual in the world...)

When i heard this my thoughts were 'Thank god its not Gage' Exactly what my reaction was! Although from KOTG I got the impression many weren't that keen on getting Gage

They may be sailing close to the wind, but quite frankly they don t look much of a team, more of a few sprinkled individuals id say, i await the dressing room fall outs there Pidge you talk some absolute drivel. We have lost Courtenay, Fleury, Bowen, Johnson and Shields from last years team. We have signed Dutiaume, Hutchins, Gavalier and a fully fit Ruff. We have still to sign a defenceman and another forward (both imports). So the only players we have not replaced with equal quality (for this league) are Fleury (who is irreplaceable) and Shields (only because he is British). We will be signing a few more locals which will give us the depth that Shaggy is talking about. As for the dressing room fallouts, it may have happened in Coventry and Sheffield but who is to say it will happen in Belfast. We have nearly the same team that won the league last season and will be therabouts this year again. Lets just wait and see what happens during the season before you start coming off with this drivel.
