The BritishIceHockey website is introducing an SMS text service for the coming season to provide the end of game scores directly to your phone. The service will cover the EIHL and/or the EPL according to individual preferences. Details of the service and how to sign up for it can be found <<< Here >>>Link: www.britishicehockey.co.uk

Hi...Im Glen the webmaster at britishicehockey.co.uk
The service will most definately work as it is a major company the texts are going through......
I have been trying the service out before deciding to use their service.........
As for the cost...ok it is 50p but that is 50p for Saturday and 50p For Sunday so £1 a week to give you all the results for the weekend direct to your phone.
The service was asked for last season but I did not want to start things then as it was too near the end of the season so decided to wait. People have asked so it has been put in place and bearing in mind there is no hockey at the moment I have still had a lot of people subscribe to the service.
Obviously it is up to the individual if you want to use it I have just put it there.
The service will be restricted to one text per Saturday and One Per Sunday giving all the teams results for that night. You can cancel the service at any time by texting stop to the sms code you sign up with. I am here either by e-mail or Telephone if you have any queries or concerns about the service.
For fuller details visit the site and even if you send your e-mail giving your interest you still have not signed up as the only way to do that is by texting the code sent by us to join.
Thanks to the Cage Forum for allowing this announcement and my continued thanks to all of you on this forum that help with snippets of information during the season.
Have a great "Summer" not long until the first puck drops now though.

Just a quickie, but what about midweek games?..Potentially there could for instance be games on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, adding another £1.50 to your bill.

No its for Saturday and Sunday only...................
If enough people wanted all games option this can be set up but I was aware of the charges involved hence the reason to stick to only weekend games.
Most people,so far, seem happy with this but as I say if someone wants all the games I need to know to see if it would be viable to set this up.
Thanks for bringing this valid point up and I hope this answers the query.........

I have registered to this service and was a little confused with the last text showing player signings. It didn't say who they had signed for or which league was in question and the end of the text was missing. (possibly too long to fit)
Did any one else have this problem? Is it something that can be resolved or did I just read it badly?
Cheers.

If you signed up for the Elite league then the signings are for that league if it is for EPL then it is for that league.
I take it you signed up for the Elite service.
The amount of characters allowed in a text is 160 so in order to get as much info in a text there is no point adding the signings are for the elite league if that is the league you have signed up to get info for.
The team names are also abbreviated to the first 3 letters of the name Nottingham becomes not..Sheffield = she,,Belfast = Bel etc again in order to get as much per text as possible.
This is done in order to keep things to 1 text and keep the cost of using the service as low as possible.

It'd be good if you could set up a system that would allow me to request the text message for individual nights. If I'm at home I can check the results on t'internet, but a text would be very useful if I'm away for the weekend or out on a Saturday night. Also, in most cases I am home on a Sunday night so the Sunday text would be a waste of money for me.
Other than that, it looks like a great idea and I hope it goes well for you. If you set up a system that can let me pick and choose which nights I get the text then please let me know.
