So if this is true, the panthers should have a nice healthy budget this year from the NBS buyout and a new primary sponsor... 🤔
I find it very, very odd that a company would pay up a sponsorship deal IN FULL to exit years early, unless they were desperate to disassociate themselves with whatever they were sponsoring. Something doesn’t ring right there. 🤔 The new NBS CEO is a female and i was told (face to face) by one of established sponsers, she is distancing the business from male dominated sports etc, amongst other things 🤷♂️ read into.that what you will.

Weird. Where’s the business sense in that?

Hmmmm, she’s obviously not aware then that EIHL ice hockey attracts one heck of a lot of females.

Weird. Where’s the business sense in that? Putting some stupid, misplaced feminist principles ahead of business and commercial interests if that’s true. I knew that NBS were pulling out of sports sponsorship but if this is the reason why then it’s idiotic

I deal in business finance / commercial mortgages.
Was told a month or so that NBS had withdrawn from funding any sort of commercial property - and this was a permanent policy decision.
They were a good home for small semi commercial cases, but hey ho.
Sounds like a new decision maker at the top is making sweeping changes.
I suspect that it’s more a case of change at the top than anything else.

Commercial property at the moment is a pretty risky/uncertain market if you're a lender (I would suggest, happy to be contradicted by someone who might know better) and I guess that they thus think it's too risky for them if that's the case? So far, so sound logic. But to withdraw very nice fitting local sports sponsorships (how many Panthers fans are homeowners/savers? Most, I suspect. Frankly, I'm quite surprised there hasn't been more made of that link) apparently on some kind of strange feminist principles...?

Guys you've clearly taken the bait of "read into that what you will" and run with it.
We can't complain that some posters constantly make assumptions about the motivations and actions of our own organisation if we're going to scurry so quickly down our own rabbit holes on the basis of an 'I've been told'.
Especially as the source seems to largely post mainly in the off season with rumours that often come to nothing. If the new CEO wasn't mentioned as being "a female" (the use of the redundant *a* is also interesting) then nobody would have bitten so eagerly at the narrative set up to be run with.
How often does a new CEO come in and change a companies priorities? All the time. It's so routine we expect it. Especially in anything related to the sports world. If they were *a* male would anybody be entertaining the idea that it was anything but a business decision? Would it even have been mentioned?
Just a thought.
Maybe we should be asking why we're told the CEO is female in the first place? And not making speculative assumptions on their motivations based on a single characteristic one poster has deliberately foregrounded.
Either way, we seem to be heading down the rabbit hole no?

Seems the new NBS CEO has been in the role for nearly 2 and half years, not sure I'd class that as new

Whatever the reason, if they have a sponsor lined up, they'll need it soon, as they'll be painting the ice in a week or three, I expect?
"Here's the new main team sponsor, that big white patch on the ice..."

GVL Recovery named as main/shirt sponsor Bit of a come down from NBS But the details are not public Dont think it says the main team sponsor. Announced as A major sponsor. McDonalds were also announced as a major sponsor the other day. Their logo will be on the front of the shirt. Luckily I dont think we'll be known as the GVL Nottingham Panthers.
