Meh, the club move on & get someone else in. If Hazeldine doesn’t want to play for Panthers, then so be it.

Joe really stood out at the end of last season when we were extremely short on D, looked like a quality player with the increased ice time. He impressed on the powerplay as well and became a pivotal part of our unit. It’s a shame he’s decided to go elsewhere.
It looks like our Brit pack could be the same as the one that started last season then. 5 import D looks likely now as well, which is good imo

I imagine he wants to break into the GB squad, he will do that easily with Corey as his coach. If we took Corey back and kept Hazeldine, there’d be folk upset we’d gone back to Corey. It’s one of those that the club wanted him, but he didn’t want the club. Can’t do anymore, there’s other players out there who can fill the void

Why aren't we seen as the premier destination for players coming to the UK? Of course we'll have our British players next season, there's only so many jobs, but it's another question mark about why we struggle to hold onto players we'd like to stay here.

Joe wanted to stay here. I can say that with confidence. Panthers may have offered what they felt was all they could to keep him. It just wasn't enough. This isn't about him wanting to be somewhere else. He didn't choose Clan over Panthers because of Corey or not wanting to be here. Clan I think, likely offered him a better deal and Corey probably was the difference between Clan and any other team. I'm not massively in the know, I dont know Joe or anybody personally, but I've heard enough from decent people to want to defend agaisnt this view that Joe didn't want to be here or didn't care about being here.

It's a shame we didn't keep Joe. Some times players value themselves more than the club are prepared to offer. I guess Panthers offer was a decent one but every player has his worth.
Makes announcing Kelsall's return more acceptable now. The club obviously knew by then Joe wasn't returning.

Could it be that with an extra Brit already on the books they felt that they didn’t need to go over the odds to keep Joe? If they’ve got Kelsall, Ollie, Tetlow and Neilson extended they might not have felt the need to pay over the odds for an extra Brit. Doesn’t make me happy with it as I’d much rather see Hazeldine back than Tetlow

If this is a case of him wanting too much money then we’ll have to wait till we finish recruitment before we can fully evaluate whether or not it was worth letting him leave

He's off, IIWII.
No-one really knows the truth, I suspect, but it sounds like he had multiple (at least 2 we know of) offers, so he has to weigh them up and make a decision. Let's face it, he's signed for a bottom placed team, so it can't be based on results. GB coach's team, 2 year deal, fancied a change? I doubt it's solely money.
I suspect it's more to do with familiarity and getting into the GB set-up, something he currently isn't.
Best to move on, and be positive about the signings we do make, not those we don't.

Spot on bobnessHe’s in charge of who he signs for, at what value & length. I don’t have any issue with that. However, he doesn’t want to play for my team, so I say thanks for your efforts & we move on. We haven’t lost Larry Murphy.

Probably thought he’s got more chance of winning trophies up in Glasgow. Can’t blame his thinking there ! 🤣

He will say it was a joke etc. After a month without posting anything finally there was a stick to try and bash the Panthers with. Not that he's just here for that, or that he's interested or cares you understand.

I think you're on the money with your reasoning here. He'll get good minutes, a lot of focused attention on developing his game and a chance to show he can take the next step up and crack the GB squad.

Neilson’s a half reasonable coach,at least better than Stewart, but I can’t stick the guy. He’s extremely arrogant, rather ignorant and full of poor excuse’s.
