Is this a confidence thing or a fitness thing? We seem to starting strong most games and fading away fast but the middle of the second period

Well. Thats a tough one. Genuinely so good for 2 periods. To be fair I think Clans first 4 goals were all good goals, unlike the 3 Belfast games where we were giving them big gifts. 2,3 & 4 theyd worked out getting a screen in front and that was that. I dont think Robinson could do anything about any of them. He simply couldn't see them. I actually think he had a very good game too. The real issue is in the head. As soon as the 4th went in, and probabpy the 3rd in reality there was no way back. That same group of players with a bit of comfidence after winning the last few games dont lose that game. It wasn't lost due to ability or skill levels. Lost in the heads. Never looked in trouble before the 5 on 3. Not sure if it was the missed penalty shot or conceeding as soon as the penalties were finished, or even just conceeding a goal but thats when the game turned. Aside the odd burst it was pretty much all Clan from that point on.
3-6 probably isn't a fair scoreline. At 3-3 and even 3-4 it was just a decent hockey game of 2 halves. The way it all crumbled at the end though was quite horrific.

Absolutely soul destroying I think that sums it up to be honest So good until the missed penalty shot then it was all Clan to be honest. We just could not clear the zone in the 3rd...the pressure built until we crumbled conceding 3 identical goals. Gutting as this was the game I really felt we would get that win

I blame the coach for that one. There was a switch in tactics at the start of the third period. Where instead of carry on with the forecheck the forwards dropped back and started skating backwards trying to make a four man defensive line. Which just invited the Clan to attack and low and behold they did. Which meant faceoff after faceoff in our end and goal after goal. The amount of procession the Clan had in our zone in the third was bound to result in goals.

There was some inevitability about it when they got it to 3-2.
Clan were camped in our zone and we were hanging on having looked so comfortable.
The crowd could feel it. The players certainly felt it.

Well a new low.
1st time tonight i have huge question makes how good a coach JP is, how he didn’t change his tactics to stop the clan is beyond me 3 Identical goals. You could see it coming a mile on as well that 5th goal was always going to be crucial and when the clan got it a defeat was always on the cards.
Genuinely don’t think we will get a top 8 spot this year.
Was disappointed to see they have filled Johnson’s stall at the start of the game when the go into the changing room, I know it can’t stay empty for ever but for the rest of this year it shouldn’t of been filled.
Solid 1st 2 periods thought Robinson was very good team let him down in the last.
Time for black to sell up move on. Fully expect parades to walk at the end of season and to be honest not bothered by it either. Pacha can also go, Dundee is his level. (Although we are now a Dundee level)

Previous seasons, a defeat like this and I'd be angry, upset, disappointed, wanting solutions or changes. This season...I just want it to be over. For everyones sake. Then wipe the slate and start again. Again. It really doesn't matter if the players were good enough or not before that night, they shouldn't have to keep putting themselves through this, for their or our sakes.

What can you say, the third period was tough to watch and I left that game dumbfounded and a bit angry that we’d blown a 3-1 lead, especially when we were cruising.
Kevin Moore’s post game interview brought me back round to realising that there’s more to be upset about than losing that game tonight

Kevin Moore’s post game interview brought me back round to realising that there’s more to be upset about than losing that game tonight I noticed how KM immediately went and had a few words with Roy after the missed p/s, and with Robinson when he was trying hard to smash his stick near the end.

Kevin Moore’s post game interview brought me back round to realising that there’s more to be upset about than losing that game tonight I've just now watched the interview. If you think they should be over it by now then you pretty mich got your answer. No decent human would take that and use it as an excuse for their performances. Kevin Moore is beyond a decent human and if he's saying it so bluntly then you have to take it in. It's so obvious on the ice too. One thing goes wrong on the ice and they are just done. Many of us have said it, but this team has shown more heart and effort than the last 2 seasons, at least, combined. I will continue to critique performances as is fair, but any of those guys here on 28th should absoloutly get respect until the end of the season.

Interesting interview.
I know someone who has fitted something at one of the players houses recently, but given tha Kevin Moore interview I don't think this is the time to mention comments said player made.
Anyway to the game, familiar script except the 'collapse' came later than of late.
Neither the result nor the manner in which it occurred was a surprise. Even at 3-0. Once a goal goes in against us the cracks start to appear and in some instances turn in to gaping holes, which Kwvin Moore basically said.
There's only so much coaches can do,The players either take it in or they don't- for whatever the reason & this is far from a normal season.
I think the club has got to try get through to the end of the season the best it can, players, coaches, fans and dare I say ownership together as one (as much as they can be) & push on and reset next season. - I can dream right?
Doesn't the AJ inquest start tomorrow? If so that isn't going make things any easier.
Looking forward to Saturday even less now., hoping for a miracle today but I will be there as always.

You can clearly see the emotion in the eyes of Kevin during that interview & I will forever think that the current roster have balls of steel for playing on after what occurred in late October.
The losing streak is awful, we can point fingers at the club, yet it’s insignificant at the end of the day. I shall continue to attend & cheer, not because I’m a “happy clapper” or I believe everything is wonderful with the club, but to give my support to the lads.
