McGurty and Pare in for us (hopefully more if we're lucky on injuries healing).
Belfast have Goodwin back, hopefully it's us taking the Good Win home with us though...
I'll see myself out.

Hopefully the club is keeping positive injury news under wraps.
Looking at the scoring stats for Belfast and it’s very surprising to see how poorly some of their more recently prolific players have been doing.
I felt the previous two games we’ve played against them have been close, does losing Preston and adding Goodwin improve them massively, I’m not so sure. There’ll be good support for the Panthers in Belfast, hopefully it’s two good results.

I felt the previous two games we’ve played against them have been close, does losing Preston and adding Goodwin improve them massively, I’m not so sure. There’ll be good support for the Panthers in Belfast, hopefully it’s two good results. Indeed, their stats make some sobering reading. No forward scoring at a point per game. No-one anywhere near, frankly. Panthers-esque. Tedesco especially is 10 goals behind his pace last season. 2nd worst shooting percentage in the EIHL 2nd lowest PPG scored, 3rd lowest PP%. (13, 17.11%) #1 goalie with a sub 90% SP%. Lowest goals scored per game in the second period of any EIHL team. (0.81) Not a great home record (6-4-1) Giants have scored first in only 4 of their 11 home games. (When they do, they are 3-0-1. Panthers are 2-1-0 in the 3 away games they've scored first in) On the positive side 2nd best shots conceded per game (25.3) 3rd in league in GD per game. (+0.33) Joint 3rd best in goal scored per game in the 3rd. (0.96) 2nd best PK in the league (67/81, 82.72%) 53.04% on face offs, 64.57% (!) vs Panthers. Friend and Curti are +24 between them. Vs Panthers so far this season, in 2 games, 8-5 score, 2 wins for Belfast, Giants are 2 for 7 on the PP, 8 for 10 on the PK. SOG 65-52 to Giants. Look like 2 pretty evenly matched teams in general.

Team news:
“The Panthers will be without Josh Tetlow and Ollie Betteridge, while Joe Hazeldine will undergo a late fitness test.
It's hoped Simon Després and Austin Farley will be fit enough to be available for selection, while Félix Paré is set to make his debut.“
Feels like Ollie has been out for ages. Any word on what the problem is?

Why they’ve worded the article like that only they know but this thing with Farley missing is becoming a farce. Is he even injured ? Sounds to me like they’re hiding something here !

Robinson in goal…. No Rok.
Hazeldine didn’t make it.
Farley didn’t make it. McKenzie named, and Pare also named.
I see McKenzie has left Telford today, so assume he’s full time with us now.

He's not in the lineup they put out though. Has Kelsall as sixth defenseman.

You might want to take another look at the lineup and count the number of imports, then you might find this allusive secret Panthers have been keeping from everyone

Him and Ollie were “hopefully” due back for the Guildford game, that’ll be four more games gone by if neither plays this weekend.

Didn't watch but all reports appear to suggest we were by far the better team. Besko being the difference once again.

Unlucky tonight...if we had only taken the multitude of chances in the first period we would have won that.
Even game in terms of possession but we had the best chances. Robinson played well as did Anderson and Despres.
Pare looked lively and could be a real asset.
If we can be more ruthless tomorrow we can win.

Thought I would leave it till this morning before posting any thoughts....Bear in mind this is with my Teal glasses on. I felt the whole game was fairly entertaining especially considering it was two teams that quite frankly are struggling to find a semblance of form. It was a fairly even game that either team could have taken control off. Giants held you guys off in your D-Zone for long periods at times, while the Panthers at times showed of their skating skills and cut through a bit of a ropey defence with ease. More calls by the refs could have been made for both sides but (Rightly i thought) let the game flow and only called what really needed to be called. Tonight is anyones guess. It could be as cagey as last nights or either team could go on a goal splurge depending on how both netminders play. Giants have struggled to put two good games together of late but with the arrival of Cullen and Goodwin and a very skillful defenceman in Roach back on the ice I am hoping they can turn it around. Rumours abound that Tedesco and Friend were given a bit of a talking to recently, it will be interesting to see if Tedesco plays tonight and if Goodwin is on the same line he can help his numbers a bit....Good noisy fans by the way.
