Hope he’s still trying to settle in but isn’t the power forward I was expecting.

Another player over-hyped and damned if he both does and doesn't? At least he's getting sensible TOI now, and was 4 for 5 in the dot last night. (Michaud was 11 for 14 Saturday night!) At the end of the day, one player isn't going to heal this team, whoever they are. Anyone thinking there's a panacea signing incoming will likely be very disappointed.
Proper power forwards are few and far between, they are a sought after bunch, and need recruiting in the summer. Printz, for example, is the closest I've seen this year to your prototypcial power forward. For those with long memories, I'm thinking Derek Laxdal.

I thought signing power forwards was simply a case of going on elite prospects or hockey db. Who cares if they aren’t available or unwilling to leave their team mid season.

I think Pare has been solid so far. Decent in the face offs (although I’m not sure what the stats say) and lands alot of hits. Saw a post on twitter saying he lands the most hits per 60 mins in the league. I’ve seen a lot of people disappointed in him but I’m not sure what more people expected from him. Obviously wasn’t going to come in and be a point per game player but he has come in and done his role very effectively in my opinion.

I don't know if anyone follows Joe Maciag on Twitter, but he puts some great analytical stats out. The one below has Felix Paré way ahead on hits when teams are 5 on 5. x.com/JoeMaciag2/status/1750982008866496531

If he plays tomorrow, we need the same from him but I’d like to see him take it up a level. Try and get under Sheffield’s skin, attempt to get them off their game, draw them into scuffles in the play and disrupt them

Sheffield this year are the most disciplined team in th me league, they’re not out there reacting to the opposition and taking needless penalties. They really have got it all right in all departments.

I just don’t want us to give them too much respect, otherwise there’s no point in turning up later

So, not infallible, clearly, but he puts out some very good and interesting stuff.

Pare is now starting to find his feet. Not spectacular but looks like he can do a role for us. Wednesday & Tonight he looked much more composed on the puck and does indeed do a decent job in the circle.

Could have scored in the third. Keep it up !

...can “apparently” win face offs…mmmm we’ll see on that. Currently 43/78, or 55%. If he carries on like that he'll be near top 10 in the league come season's end. Currently, for players winning more than 100 face offs so far this season, there are 2 players batting over .600. (!) Josh Brittain at the Stars is winning nearly 2 in 3 of the face offs he takes, as is Scott Allen at the Steelers. Annoyingly, the annoying Ben Lake is a gnat's crotchet under .600 as well. Panthers have 4 of the bottom 9 in that list... If you add up all the players who have won 100 or more face offs this year, the average winning percentage is 50.79%. That's some going to get over 60%. And to be fair, only just over 40%...

I make it 10/15, (5/8 and 5/7 respectively) but the point is well made in any case. He does win face offs, and thus the sneering negativity looks all the more out of place. Credit where it's due, and it was nice to see him briefly put 3 points on the board before 1 was cruelly denied him...

Glad to see that he is now being used in face offs when the opposition have a powerplay and face off in our end zone.
Sure is more than a little handy at taking face offs, finishing his checks and standing up to the opposition. Just what we were lacking in the team.
