Well if they do decide to stick with the CC, but aren't ready to play next weekend, then it raises the spectre of the first game back being at Sheffield on the 25th. And I really don't think that's a good idea for players, team officials or spectators. It will be hard enough playing there eventually, but not first game.

Don't think this particular team will go back to Sheffield this season. The game on the 25th will not happen.

Confirmed that we have withdrawn from the Challenge Cup.
Totally understandable given we’re due to play in Sheffield again at the end of the month. That does seem so soon.

So it sounds like they're going to return to the ice, and return to the league games

So it sounds like they're going to return to the ice, and return to the league games You'd like to think so from that. I think they'd have made one annoucement if they were to pull out of the league aswell. If it means 5 or 6 new signings i'd expect them to find a way to complete the league campaign. All players will be dealing differently, but personally I can see all but 3 or 4 staying. We already know Luca Sheldon has played a game, albeit he wasn't in Sheffield that night. Bjorkland I think will play based on the way he spoke. 2 or 3 are still here and have been seen fairly relaxed. Going to play golf etc(which is more than reasonable, they all need some normality and distraction). My guess at most lkely not to return would be Neimenen. Purely on his involvement in the incident. It would be great to see all of them come back to "do it for Adam" and Black give them the additional on ice support to do that. I think we all already know they will be ready at different times, which is uderstandable. Perhaps we'll see somebody like Neimenen struggle and be all but gone, but then decide he fancies getting back in perhaps February time.

Otto is at least back in Nottingham today going by social media which is a positive sign that if nothing else he wants to be around the team. I am genuinely so proud of how they are all doing and sticking with each other as they all navigate such a difficult situation. That is imperative for them as they come to terms with what happened in life in general, never mind the hockey.

I might be totally wrong here but I just have a feeling we won't see Paredes. Looking at the guys who had totally lost it, Carl Neill & Henbrant. As I said could be totally wrong and I hope I am. Hope everyone is feeling okay.

I agree about Paredes. Poor fella must be inconsolable. First job outside of France, no family here, and this happens. The weight of responsibility on his shoulders must be immense. I've coached, absolutely not to the levels of this chap, but enough. You feel obligated to look after your guys. We all know that in no way is it anything to do with him but that will be of no consideration to his state of mind. He will be broken đź’”

A little dissapointed for it not being a ST game. That would have all but ensured a sell out. It's good to see the pricing is reasonable and i'm sure demand with be high. I'm not entirely convinced it will sell out even with that pricing. No mention of ticket profits going to Adams fundraiser as it stands. Perhaps that'll be the case to be revealed in time.

This response is a little disappointing… especially as the article says additional ticket info to come later today, I feel like you’ve jumped the gun a bit. As we’ve said with most things in the past fortnight, exercising some patience is key.

As we’ve said with most things in the past fortnight, exercising some patience is key. I've not really said anything to critical of the club. My main motivation for the post is that I want it to be sold out. Worried that it not being a league game on the ST may impact that. It'd be pretty aweful if it were played in front of 3,000 due to some not being able to afford to pay to go. Being a Saturday night will also drag in many that may not be as respectful as they should be. But I get that, that date was in the diary anyway. 3,000 true hockey fans wouldn't be the end of the world though. I think its a great idea to have a warm up game before stepping back in. As it's a memorial game I expected to see that ticket sales would go to the Fundraiser. That's all, nothing more. They've done an amazing job up to now in very difficult circumstances. I just want this to be as perfect as can be. This has just raised a few concerns with me that it may not be.

This last paragraph certainly implies it's a pure fundraiser. And since it's called the Adam Johnson Memorial game I think it would be safer to bet it is then that it isn't surely? "All tickets will cost only ÂŁ10 and further information about how to purchase tickets and numerous fundraising initiatives will be released later today. Adam Johnson. Forever our #47."

I think at £10 a ticket and given the circumstance I don’t think you’ll be disappointed at the crowd. The event will be well supported. With it being a memorial game, ST means less money coming in for the fund however much the percentage of proceeds is. You may not have been directly critical it was just a disappointing response when the full information is not yet available

I bet all ticket sales will go the fundraiser. ÂŁ10 and no booking fees is good, at last the arena can drop them, even for a one off. I would expect the game to be very close to a sell out, especially at those prices.
Great to hear from JP too

Hope everyone is feeling okay. Parades is quoted in the Memorial Game article. Sounds like he'll be behind the bench on the 18th to me: Head Coach, Jonathan Paredes, said: "Adam was an outstanding person and a remarkable hockey player. The impact he made on and off-the-ice in his short time he was here was remarkable. "This is a special group of players and they will miss Adam hugely and they will never forget him. "The team's thoughts remain with Adam's partner Ryan, the family and friends at this difficult time."
