Panthers Then Make Stale Joke About Not Really Caring Steelers
Or serious answer:
Giants Devils Panthers Steelers (a man can dream) Clan Blaze Stars Flyers Storm
I will go a shocking Panthers cup, playoff double!

After the first weekend , Well with Storm beating Panthers, Steelers with a 4 pt weekend and Fife thrashing the Clan, these predictions are not going well!

I noticed there’s been a few more predictions over the last week or so. So after the few games we’ve seen, what do people feel we’re missing that prevents us from being contenders?

In all seriousness i've only seen the team once so I wont pass judgement based on that. My views havn't changed since the team was assembled though. We lack toughness(a modern day player who can also hold people to account), Probably also 1 or 2 more genuine top liners. The D individually looks ok. To be up there though would perhaps need another quality addition. I still dont think any player is a bad signing individually, just the way the team is constructed. I'm not looking to be nagative for the sake of it after seeing one game, just sharing because you asked. I cant see this current group finishimg higher than 5th(4th at a push if coach works his magic) without any additions. I do think it has enough like the Herr year did, that if a few changes are made it could imrpove significantly.

We have the makings of a good side but feel we require 1 or 2 bigger fore checking forwards that can also stop other teams from being dirty and bring a bit of grittiness to the team. I don't understand the whole bigger players (mainly forwards) can't skate fast. We have had plenty of bigger players that can in the past and the one big forward we have Neilson doesn't look slow to me.

Lepine for Tuma, Anthony Stewart brought in from the lockout, then when he left Kelsey Wilson came in, and finally DAB as cover. so even if this year's team is doing ok, it won't hurt to upgrade if better is available.

Linger was a special player, need another like him. Herr and Williams (albeit briefly) were 2 of the best we’ve had since

Kelsey Wilson would be the key Kelsey Wilson is one of those fast forechecking bigger players we have had in the past. Who was the last piece of the jigsaw that won us the league. He brought that bit of physical edge that other teams didn't like.

He brought that bit of physical edge that other teams didn't like. And the sort of player that all of the coaches since seem to think we don’t need. They play hard physical hockey, hold players accountable and more importantly open up space for skilful players to play in. Manchester took 4 minutes to work the Panthers out and we’re very lucky not to lose both games last weekend as it turns out. They used just one guy to completely close the Panthers down until 10 minutes in the sixth period when a fire was obviously lit under certain bums. Playing against physical teams will get players injured if you try to “out fast” them. Even the speedy Guildford had big players there to do a job. The fetish that some have for speed and skill with no physicality will result in the Panthers playing short benched very quickly.

Teams that are just one dimensional, fast a smaller and apparently more skillful, but not convinced with that either.

And yet Pashas last Dundee team had possibly the guy who turned out to be the most effective big guy in the league

Most teams just over the half way point. As ever there is quite a difference in games played for various reasons, but its now starting to take shape.
It's fair to say Panthers can be taken out of predicted positions with all thats happened. Poor results yes, not a 10th placed team on roster quality. Wouldn't be 10th without the tragedy.
Not many had Steelers winning it which now looks all but nailed on barring a disasterous 2nd half.
Belfast have again recovered from a poor start to risr up to 2nd currently. Helped by 3 consecutive games against their banker team. Cardiff will probably complete a predictable top 3. I guess the biggest suprise so far may be Clan being so far off. Lot's of improvements there but perhaps they need a season or two more to be able to build properly.

Not many, if any, had Steelers being the runaway leaders, and similarly quite a few thought the Clan would be right up there. Tricky stuff, this prediction malarkey.
