Devils win today against Zemgale Jelgava, in 2nd place now. In domestic action Steelers beat Giants easily, 5-1. Close wins for Dundee and Fife. I got a miserable comment/moan under the breath by a woman at the tram stop last night for mentioning Sheffield's win. Which was very poor considering we have mentioned the good comradery we've had these past days with fans. Ice hockey does move on even considering the match we attended last night. We hope that teams can pin Sheffield down these next few weeks. Cardiff in particular need to consolidate a win next game to get that final group position. Good luck to them.

Okay so who had the sweepstake ticket with Manchester, Dundee and Glasgow being ahead of a 7th placed Belfast in the league after 10 games? š² Oooh, Sir, me Sir!!! I can tell you that. Not a single one of all of us. You know, all of us who know the game so well after being fans for a squillion years. Giants have now lost 5 in regulation after 10 games, having only lost 11 all last season (in 54 games).

By my logic, Cardiff just need to avoid a regulation defeat. If they lose in regulation though, I believe they will be eliminated no matter the scoreline.

Belfast have had a terrible start in recent years and still won the league. Non of us think they'll finish any way near 7th do we. I have no doubts they'll come good.

Oh I have no doubt they'll climb. But it's a tougher climb to the summit than they'll have expected with nearly 20% of the games played. They'd need to have a near perfect record from now on and still need others to drop their winning percentage. From .50 hockey after 10 games it's a tougher job than from .86 or .89 hockey - especially when your NM is only saving 87% of shots and averaging nearly 3 goals a game

Good result for the league, putting ārivalryā aside.
Steelers were on a good run and after spanking Belfast, it needed a result like this. Keeps everything interesting.

Scored 1, made sure they didn't concede, got the win. Through to the final in January along with Nomads (KAZ) and Herning (DK) and GKS Katowice (POL) from the other group

Old company have left debts behind - mostly HMRC.

Ā£175k of total debt just written off into thin air apparently and then they just start all over again. 60k to HMRC 52k to Dept of culture and sport 45k Bounce back loan This sort of thing absolutely stinks,Iāve had it done to me several times and it should not be allowed to happen. š¤¬

Note that there were very few trade creditors left behind. My background is in banking and a lot of banks now have a policy of not banking Phoenix companies given their tendency to be repeat offenders. If you get taken down by a large bad debt or circumstances beyond your control, fair enough. Otherwise, itās simply bad management. Suspect itās the latter here.

One of the companies that went bust on me and took my company for Ā£29k owed HMRC a total of Ā£1.4 million. How the hell can that happen. Within a week the directors of that company were trading again in the same industry under a different name. Makes my blood boil when I see it happen. š¤¬

Did you go to the creditors meeting? Any valid reasons for them going pop? Hopefully your business was strong enough to withstand the bad debt - I know a lot arenāt and something like that can take down the supply chain

HMRC are too soft, is the bottom line. Look how many football clubs itās happened to.
The directors involved in this sort of thing should be personally punished somehow, but they just set up again. Itās a cowboys world if youāre not careful.
Problem is, it hits small businesses proportionately more. Youāre working for free until you get paidā¦

I didnāt go to the creditors meeting no, very little point in doing so, it was predicted by the receiver we would receive only 2p in the Ā£ but we never received a single penny. There was no valid reason for them going pop, canāt remember which way around it was with vat and tax but the figures owed were Ā£800k and Ā£600kā¦..A company called Ideal Shopfitters based near Grantham. How do they get away with racking up figures like that, they only had a turnover of about Ā£15 million ?
