This year's head-to-head:
12/11 Panthers 5 Giants 4 15/12 Panthers 3 Giants 2 (Challenge Cup) 04/01 Giants 5 Panthers 2 (Challenge Cup) 13/01 Giants 5 Panthers 2 14/01 Giants 3 Panthers 4 (SO) 21/01 Panthers 3 Giants 5 14/02 Panthers 0 Giants 2 19/02 Giants 6 Panthers 1
So only 1 really good thrashing, in that final league game. Would put my money on Belfast but, as with the quarter final, wouldn't be enormously surprised if we made it.

Giants not entirely convincing against Clan either and have that monkey on their back of not winning playoffs in 13 years... Toss of a coin picking a winner of this one!

This one could go either way indeed.

If we come out like we did against Guildford on Saturday we will win this one.

Keefe talked about the collective exhale after the Giants winning the league last weekend, and how it was hard to refocus and get that intensity back.
Hopefully another weeks practice and now the fact they are only 2 games away from a treble might re focus them and we can play more like we have in thé previous 2 months.
Could come down to goaltending and the Besko v Jones argument again, Besko has come back and shown his worth, the only trophy he hasn't won as a giant is the playoffs so is this his year?

Huge occasion so need to wash my grapes for a clear insight. Panthers on home ice, Panthers playoff pedigree, Panthers last chance to rescue this season. But, Giants are the better team. The Grapes Count = Panthers 1 : Giants 3.

Difficult to see past a Giants win, but if they can keep the top line quiet and stay out of the box, anything could happen.

I didn’t watch the game against Guildford, and I’ve not seen footage of the hit, but I was told it was a monster, kept Tait off the ice for the final few minutes of the game. More please

Rather win this and lose a final rather than play in the idiotic 3rd and 4th game.

A lot more positively than I thought, it's certainly a winnable game based on the home games against Belfast but they have do defend like the 1st Leg against Guildford.
Really don't like the 15:00 and 19:00 Face Off times, much prefer the original 13:00 and 17:00 start times but that's probably due to TV and it does give other supporters time to get here.
Granted it was due to the ticket prices but last year's Play Off Weekend was the worst, no team I really want to win and no time to root against, whilst I wanted Dundee and Guildford to win, that's because I wanted someone new to win and I don't dislike Belfast and Cardiff
It's our team that's going to be mentioned in the Final Four
It's our players that get introduced.
It's our flag that will get paraded by a Ice Skater around the Rink.

All depends on Besko, he didn’t have a good pair of QF games. Could go either way.

All depends on Besko, he didn’t have a good pair of QF games. Could go either way. 4 of the 6 goals conceded were on the powerplay including 2 on a 5 on 3 penalty kill, we were number 1 over the season on PK so a bit of an anomaly in that series, if we stay 5 on 5 we have every chance of being successful.

Given the Panthers had the lowest pp chances in the league in the regular season, you’re probably ok…

Any pictures/art design of the play off jerseys that we will be wearing yet? Saw a phased out teaser which didn't help recently but no actual glimpse.

Yes your right, thanks. But can't copy those from photo sites. I will have to wait for the Elite site to show a clear shot or the design pics when they sell the shirts off I guess. Best I can get is any action shots from the Guildford home and away games.

I wonder why Hockey remains a backwater sport. Perhaps rebuffing mainstream media who want to broadcast games is part of the reason.

I doubt it as BBC are cutting back on regional expenditure left, right and centre. BBC used to provide commentary on important Panthers games back ages ago, but those days are gone.

I would think they would have exclusive rights especially if they are a sponsor If football is on Sky, you can usually still listen on the radio. Perhaps they did specify that all broadcast rights including audio is exclusive, but I'm not sure that would be the default position. Imagine Omar will be a bit peeved, there's been a clear push to get Panthers coverage on local radio with players regularly going on sports shows this year. Some live coverage would have been good from a Panthers perspective.
