Good luck to him, good to have the extra, bigger body in if nothing else. Corey will probably play him on defence mind you.
Did we sign him before the international deadline and delay the announcement?

Suppose it’s no surprise given the position in the league we are but we seem to be shopping in the bargain bins with the last 2 signings

I think it's the league in general. Although Steelers have signed Ackered, i can't imagine he's commanding anything like the wages he would have earned when he left Guilford as he's had an injury.

Suppose the wage caps in place handcuff the clubs too and aren’t able to go all out for big signings. Is that something that should be dropped now we’re well on the other side Covid now? I want to see the best player’s possible and the league grow rather than holding the whole thing back

Hopefully he brings some speed to our transition and a bit of physicality with his size, someone a bit more direct when they carry the puck in the offensive zone would be nice. Good production throughout his career but arguably at a lesser level than the EIHL, hopefully he does well for us

I think it's also fairly sensible from the club. We have 6th place to secure, won't finish any higher and the playoffs to have an outside chance at winning (like everyone) but that's all we have to play for. No point splashing out for a top player when there's nothing to play for now. Plus, the top players that are available now, will be attracted to the clubs looking at silverware like the Giants and Steelers, not us.

Hopefully Corey will put him on a forward line with Ricci. To create a more physical line and give us something we haven't had all season. Also bring Archie back on defence. I don't understand why he has been dropped. Knowing Corey though it will be something totally different.

No point except for the thousands of poor saps paying for a seat and watching I guess. Only in Nottingham

I dont buy in to this mentality that the seaon is over. Since when did the play offs just become a throw away meaningless competition. I know it's format is abysmal and devalues it to a degree but it's the still the play offs and still holds stature to the players and the wider hockey community. It'll still show as a Championship on a CV and teams records.
The club should be looking to do all they can to give themselves a chance of winning it. They should do it for the loyal fans, they should do it for this years team and they should do it as a starting point to build on. Ending the season with that trophy put's a much more positive feeling into the club and perhaps even helps bring in players that see they are coming to a winning team.
If nothing else it'll perhaps do enoughto keep some cash cows coming back next season that otherwise were going to jack it in.
Shopping at Lidl whilst the real contentders are in Waitrose again. For what it's worth though,I think this guy could be one of those great finds out of the bargain basket. Let's hope so.

...Also bring Archie back on defence. I don't understand why he has been dropped... Nobody does. Because Hockey, perhaps D in particular is a mans game according to CN. A league season that is a write off is the perfect opportunity to give a player like Archie the chance to get loads of EIHL experience. He's proved his ability. 20+ regular games could've had him well prepared for a full time slot next season. We could have him in the line up and put Ricci with the new guy and Myers or Sorensen for a decent grind line capable of good production.

From the short video the club put on Twitter the other day he looks like he’s willing to lay the body, carries the puck with speed as well, I’m looking forward to seeing where he slots in

No nothing about the new man. On the plus side he adds some size to the squad. On a negative note I have to agree with other posts which lean towards him being a "bargain bucket" acquisition. Really hope that he brings something new and adds some spark but, would need to be something of a superman to truly influence the rest of the side and turn around the team's fortunes.
