Dear Santa, I don’t want much for Christmas this year. But if I could ask for just 1 thing, 2 points here would be it. Please.

Grapes Count. Festival goals feast. Steelers take Panthers apart in front of bumper crowd. Steelers 7: Panthers 2.

Can anybody tell me why we appear to be the only venue with “Power Breaks?”

No sign of Lou's goals yet, 0-0 after 1.
Power breaks were optional for all teams, we do have a bit of a webcast advert in there I think (?). But yes, either league wide or not at all in my book.

Just as I was thinking Debeau was starting to make some of us think about eating our words he gifts Sheffield an in. At the worst time possible too. Less than a minute left in the 2nd period. The type of goal that always turns these games around. Panthers have dominated the game which included Debeau making some very good saves.
A flat game to say the least though. 1 minor penalty so far and that was a soft call. Not even an ounce of spice.

2 in a minute for them, 3-1 with plenty of time left.

Panthers do the most Panthers thing possible and take a to many men call with 1m30 left on the clock and 3 2 down. Killed any chance off.
Played out to usual Chistmas in Sheffield script.

Lost I think. Too many men penalty with a minute and a half left didn't help.

Dubeau needed to be on his game tonight and up until that point he was, really frustrating goal to give up. We weren’t clinical enough in the 1st period though after dominating them and we didn’t cover ourselves in glory defensively for their 3rd goal, so the result is not solely on Dubeau. Possibly the most uneventful, drab Boxing Day game I can remember though, no atmosphere. Not sure how Sheffield keep getting the crowds they are

Unfortunately with the way The Officials are, anything deemed spicy could be deemed as a Game Misconduct and players aren't wanting to take that chance. As you mentioned, there was a soft call on Welsh.

That was a frustrating game, they were there for the taking.
If it wasn't for that minute in the 3rd then who knows what would have happened.
I know I'm biased but Ken and Steff are the best Announcers. When a Panthers Goal, it's just the minimum, not announcing each sponsor. That's not just Sheffield, Coventry was the same.

I don't think they were there for the taking. They did what they always do in these fixtures, they just go up a gear when threatened . Sponsors bring in money and its money the Steelers have so they can buy better players, and they do. Full house tomorrow, onward and upward .Perhaps.

The Steelers know exactly how to play us, they just let us go hammer and tongue and then strike when we’ve knackered ourselves out generally in the 3rd period. Even if we had a 3 or 4 goal lead they never give up, it’s happened countless times. I really thought we would win this one but the killer final touch isn’t there. Hopefully a better game tomorrow.
