Hard one to call. Having pressed the grapes I have come up with :- Steelers 4 : Panthers 2.

Anyone know a good place for parking near Sheffield arena when not using their car park? I've always parked on the road down the side of The Noose and Gibbet. Done it for many years and never had an issue. Have to get there early though. Id usually get there at least 2 hours before face off with the intention of getting dinner somewhere. On street parking with no cost last time I went.

Hammond and Sorenson out of tonight's game. Berry in as backup and Hopkins returns.

1-0 Welsh. Seconds in to our 2nd powerplay. I have to say it was an aweful call on Petgrave though. Never mind. 🤣

1-1 a little unlucky with the puck deflecting off Hazeldine. Panthers the better of the teams over the first 2 periods. Sheffield struggled to get much going. Panthers penalty kill has been exceptional, including killing a 5on3 for 55 seconds followed quickly by another 56 seconds of 5on3. We havn't dominated them by pinning them in offensively often but I'd argue we had really shut them down until their goal.

Those 5 on 3s were part of an overall period of 4minutes PP time for Sheffield. A couple more PPs in that period too. Unless it updates soon the shots on goal that period were Sheffield 4, Panthers 3. That's staggering for hom much PP time they had.

A 2-1 loss in the end. Very much a typical Sheffield 3rd period in Sheffield. Came on really strong and dominated for large periods. First 10 minutes they had us pinned in constantly. The goal was always going to come. A bit of a shame as we played a decent road game. The difference in the end was probably Panthers getting a bit leggy with a few players missing and it being the 2nd game in 2 nights whilst Sheffield were fresh.

Indeed. 2 league points and a nice game to try and work out how to beat Steelers when the league games start. Looks like it was a pretty even game all told, but if there were 2 major things I’d suggest would be hugely useful to learn to do based on prior seasons it would be have a much better home record spend more time on the PP than the PK
Steelers will have a good PP, they always do, strangle that by keeping out of the box and that will help enormously.

Who was wearing 17 for our goal? There's no 17 on the game sheet?
And Brassard should get an assist.

I wouldn't say it if they didn't. Top of the shop in 21/22, 25.67%. 3/10, 22.03% in 19/20 No league stats details before then, but my spidey-sense tells me that they did.

Not sure one game is fit to judge the whole thing on, but it wasn't very good last night. Blaze are currently 8 for 28 on the PP. That's decent.
