Had a thought, what if hypothetically his KHL contract falls through and he is on the market again would he be able to sign for another EIHL club or as panthers had originally signed him for next season does this mean he is no longer a free agent in the UK? He’ll just about end up in Sheffield. 🙈

I feel like I may have mentioned this before but the wonderfully named former Edmonton Oiler, Darcy Martini was meant to join us for the final ISL season but pulled out and never played again. Blimey, have you guys got a photographic memory or written a lot of notes. Or just an anorak of knowledge? I am amazed of the historical recalls.

What about DUNCAN MACPHEARSON the hockey player that never got here. Vanished in 1989 whose frozen body was only to be found 14 years later in the Alps. Because it was in one of my books (page 148 - 'Factual Scrapbook') I recall this but GM told me the story was not as true as it read. Can never remember which part.

I quite liked Maloney. Solid, unflashy, dependable.

Because it was in one of my books (page 148 - 'Factual Scrapbook') I recall this but GM told me the story was not as true as it read. Can never remember which part. As Hunt has joined the list of Imports who signed and then never made it here, it set me thinking of the player who was reportedly signed and then went missing while skiing in the Alps. I'm certain the player was Duncan Macpherson, and google tells us it was 1989, but the reports say he was on his way to Dundee to take up a coaching role. have I got the wrong man, or am I imagining that we had a player who failed to arrive under these circumstances. GM would have been able to remember no doubt. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/saskatoon-parents-of-hockey-player-who-died-in-alps-still-seek-answers-1.810899#:~:text=Duncan%20MacPherson%27s%20body%20was%20buried%20in%20a%20glacieryes i mentioned him on page 4

Speaking of players who never made it over, I recall there was a Ukrainian international netminder who got charged with Matchfixing some IIHF world championship fixtures and got suspended by the IIHF.
Edit: Eduardo Zakharchenko

That was the lockout year and we really struggled for bodies come play offs and had Kudrna in goal at POFW.

I remember him congratulating Boynton after THAT goal

I think you're on about Roman Tvrdon, came over with a lot of fanfare as he'd played for Washington Capitals season before.

There are plenty of names that crop up who played significantly more I often struggle to recall. That's a name I remember well, yet he only played 2 games for us. He's still now only 41.
