Looks like a quality signing. Just want to know why he didn’t play at all last season Injured last season and that’s the reason we got him to be Frank. Far too good for this league. Very similar to the Chris Murray signing about 8/9 years ago |

This team and last years team are chalk and cheese in comparison on paper, I hope they live up to the promise which I think we can see so far |

If he’s anywhere near as good we look like we could be on to a winner. Happy with this |

The problem was that those players with good cv’s playing lots of games in big leagues turned out to be utter garbage. The likes of Doherty, Suoranta, Jokinen, Hedberg. Only Welsh turned out to be a good player. However the roster did still look like it was put together by someone who didn’t have a clue what they were doing |

But “stud” at this stage should be reserved for the likes of Register and Reinhardt etc. |

Not quite sure i'm buying in to all the overly positive hype on here with the roster so far.
As ever I find myself in the middle ground without any extreme views. I certainly dont think we've made bad signings either.
At this point I think the Brit pack has improved for sure, but not wildly in terms of personel. More importantly it's better balanced with what it offers. That mainly down to Fererra adding goals. Our Brit pack in the here and now is likely still 3rd or 4th best. Albeit i'm 100% behind having Hopkins on board now in the hope of keeping him for what he matures in to down the line.
Moore v Tetlow. Cant honeslty say I've paid enough atention to Moore to form a real opinion. You could argue we've swapped a GB regular for somebody who doesn't get selected. Hopefully thats more to do with him not being at a fashionable club though.
Summers is a prime example of a bit of over excitement for me. Looks like he could be a very good pick up. His NCAA years show how good he was, since then he's ECHL and DEL2. He could be great for us sure, but confident statements like "he will be one of leagues best Dmen" I'm not sure where his history leads to that. Believe me, I hope he is, just dont think it's that WoW a signing.
Thats pretty much how I see our roster so far. It's an improvement on last years for sure. Plenty still to sign that will make or break how good this roster is. Am I seeing the quality that convinces me we can compete at the top? Not yet. Well, depends what comes in to fill the gaps around the upgrades we've made.
Also yet to see any player come in to play the style of hockey GG promised early on.
A good start to recruitment, but we've been here before. Waiting for the last signings to be the WOW ones, only to be dissapointed.

Just quickly.
Noticeable that all the new imports have Euro experience, which probably isn't coincidence. All look good signings so far, good stats in good leagues. Summers could be a bit of a gamble, but Coughler was apparently done for the season before Devils signed him, and he was OK. Devils especially have a history of excellent signings coming back from injuries. The upside to Summers is high.
Also agree that last year's roster looked "alright to pretty good actually" on paper. Good experience in good leagues. For whatever reason, it ended up as a very poor season, in the end.
Bottom line is, you can't tell much at all yet.
There hasn't really been a "sit up and go wow" signing yet, from anyone, for me. No-one straight out of decent production in DEL/AHL/Liiga etc. That will come, I'm sure, my money is on Belfast doing that.
