norbert70The definition for the EIHL relates to having played in the junior system in GB for, I think, 2 years before aged 16. (Someone will correct me if I'm wrong) Thus Perlini and Conway are indeed "Brits", Hammond and Halbert (for example), despite being born in the UK, aren't, as they didn't play junior in the UK for 2 years. Qualification to be able to represent GB is an entirely different thing. Think it's a "passport and 2 full years in the league" job. Hence Massy saying he wants to play for GB after this coming season? I think it's a correct ruling by the EIHL too. If we used the same qualification rules as GB we'd just end up with clubs getting guys here for 2 years and encouraging them to get a passport asap. We'd soon end up with next to no opportunities for guys who have come up through the ranks here. The only change I feel they could make is to go with a 12+2, 13+2 or something similar to see those dual nationals like Mosey and Hammond counting in their own catagory. Perhaps a way to start to bring import levels down a little whilst protecting the quality?

So if our last two forwards are Anderson and Hammond ( hopeful thinking) is that enough for a proper crack at the league?

A question if anybody knows. Mike Hammond has consistently put up big numbers wherever he has been so why has he not been signed up by big league teams before? Even where he has played he been at the bottom clubs(there or thereabouts)in the those leagues. Clan, Storm, his DEL2 team were second bottom and Odense in Denmark regularly prop the league up

He always struck me as a player that actually enjoys what he does, and fits in well with the GB set up, so it is a bit of a mystery. Coming to Nottingham would certainly give him a chance to prove he can cope with the pressure of playing for a big team.

I have to admit I’d be a little disappointed if Lagrone was our last dman

If this last D man rumour is true, it does look on paper as if the budget had been used elsewhere.

Yes we've probably the majority of the budget on forwards which I don't have a problem with .. we still have toughness on the back end in Caruso a stud and I think summers will be very good as well.

Sorry, not really a rumour. Just time to start the Eliteprospects unknown transfer 2+2=17 talk. Jay Dickman left his team in Slovakia. www.eliteprospects.com/player/178861/jay-dickman6ft 6in. His Youtube highlights show him more as a goal scorer so not sure he's the power forward we need. Cant see much from any videos of him using his size to throw hits. However he did manage 96PIMs last season in 65 games. Putting up 58 points too. If the 96PIMs signal he does play with an edge too he could be perfect though.

Looking purely at EP with no prior knowledge of the player, looks to be what we need to win more board battles and be more of a physical presence up front. I remember GG on one of his Coaches Corners stating a couple of players he’d lost out on as they’d gone to Slovakia, speculative but I wonder if this guy might be one of them. If so, hopefully he’s brought in, competition for places and will mean we can ice a full quota of imports which we couldn’t do last weekend!

Dickmqn.... a most unfortunate name
He has been linked with Fife of late. Jeff Hutchins (Fife assistant coach) has said for last couple of weeks at least that they were looking to sign a player from Europe. Whether it's him or not time will tell.
Fife's talks with Delica have allegedly broken down

I had a look at him when I saw he had been released and my first thought was.. McKenna. Hopefully he's more mobile than McKenna was and he certainly gets his shares of goals and points. I see Bulmer has got a job back across the pond, signing for Fort Wayne. Seems like Europe is where the money is nowadays, and if he can get picked up by an ECHL team then jobs must be plentiful !

Not actually a rumour, but Manglerud have released all four imports due to financial constraints. Could any of these arrive in these shores ?

Looks about the standard we've been recruiting at. Would clearly be another Pacha signing. The man who doesn't do the recruitment. Look pretty much the type we need but like when Ricci signed is he of the pedrigree we need? His PIMs the last few years dont really indicate he plays with much of an edge, but did in his younger years. Hopefully he could bring that. If he is coming here then let's hope with a new coach it works out and he makes a difference. Also depends on who he potentially replaces. Let's hope it wouldn't be Hammond.

Wonder if Corey has any wholesale plans to change the roster. Or whether he’ll just go with what he’s got. Anyone heard anything rumours wise?

We've only got 3 changes left (I think), so he can only do so much.
If there's been players deliberately half arsing it because they disliked GG, I hope he has enough changes left to can the lot of them.
