www.panthers.co.uk/home/220328-signing-sessionGiven that panthers have announced a selfies and signings/eat with the Panthers session after the game on Sunday - at a time when 1 in 16 people in the England are now testing positive for COVID - is it wrong I'm concerned we might need to start a poll for how many COVID scratched players we have in subsequent games? In the following ten days we have 2 games against 5th placed Blaze, plus Stars, plus Flames. Are other teams asking their players to do this, especially at this point in the season? I'd be interested to know Got to admit this event and it's timing has got me scratching my head at a time when Panthers are surely trying to ensure they do at least come fourth in play-off qualification. I'm hoping none of the players come across anyone positive but the thinking behind this and the timing are perplexing to me. Or is it just me?

I’m guessing it’s all to do with putting on an event to keep Saltbox happy. But I agree,it’s pretty daft timing !

As of 1st April can’t we all go to work even if we’ve got Covid? What’s the difference with the players, surely they can play even if they’ve got it?

As of 1st April can’t we all go to work even if we’ve got Covid? What’s the difference with the players, surely they can play even if they’ve got it? I guess that would depend on the EIHL rules and the COVID protocols they have in place now. Are the players still tested twice a week? True, legally they could play, put I can't see any team (or player!) icing an infected player knowing that... A) strenuous exercise is not exactly advised in terms of preventing symptoms, a quick recovery or indeed potentially long-term lung health. And B) risking other players becoming infected and possibly suffering as a consequence. It would be a duty of care failure surely if the team knows and doesn't protect the other players. If I was being cyclical I'd say that's a factor in why you no longer legally have to tell your employer. If employers don't know they don't still have the same duty of care to other employees legally speaking Plus having had it myself last month - despite being triple jabbed - and being laid out for almost two weeks recovering there's also the factor of whether a player *could* take the ice if they are symptomatic with it. So if they were symptomatic I seriously doubt that... A) they'd be able to ice either way And B) the players would be willing to risk it knowing that it's contraindicated for recovery Personally I can't see even a non symptomatic player who tests positive risking becoming worse by icing. So for me I'd still envisage it being extremely unlikely any positive player would be allowed around the other players or would be iced.

if you get a player infected then you ought to be ale to bring in a 'covid substitute' for a two week period.

Staggers me they never turned the saltbox into a bono fide sports bar! Could have it filled with memorabilia etc and live sport on 24/7 .. but no let's make it a lifeless over priced average city centre bar just like the rest of them !! I'm pretty sure had it been in Sheffield or Belfast it would have been sooo much better
