That was an extremely tough watch tonight, home games are so important and we continue to struggle in them. The same issues that we’ve had this season under Wallace still remain, plenty of shots with no real danger, we control the puck but don’t pose any real threat, no alternative plan of attack to get us back in the game.
Hedberg looks to have some skill and is a good addition, but we absolutely need something different in those forward ranks. A big bodied physical goal scorer who will drop the gloves has been missing from day 1. Pretty much every single fan has been saying we miss a player like this, someone who will get the fans going and in turn the team.
This season has been a disaster, the league is done, every game is practically a dead rubber now, there’s not even any real rivalries anymore for the fans to get excited about. Doucet has got to sign a couple of players who are going to drop the gloves to bring some entertainment and excitement back to the NIC, otherwise the attendances are going to continue plummeting.

Agreed about what we are missing But Doucet needs to go!. Clan showed tonight what (In theory) Blacks low budget team can do with better recruitment. If as I fear, our budget is going to go down year on year as Black only spends the ( decining) season ticket money gathered in on player, we need someone who knows how to recruit players who are here to play. The alternative is that Black takes a gamble, and thinks , if I get in a good team who are competing, who may even win the League, then the areana will fill up well for most games, and he will make his money back. If he is not willing to take this risk, he may as well sell the club to someone who will take a risk, if that someone exists. The alternative is he runs Panthers into the ground . Lets hope some ex NHL player who has made some good money , wants to own his own Hockey team in the quaint UK as his little project! I can dream can't I ?

And the worst thing is we havn't even made it to the half way point of the league campaign yet. 28 more games to suffer. On the plus side, only 12 of those are at home.

They havn’t even managed to sort out a picture of the two new office wallers on the website yet so the minor figures like players have got no chance !

I look at it this way. If we can't win with that many shots on goal at home versus a non top three we have zero chance away in Belfast for the Cup. Hands up who is willing to go to the bookies on that away win? Belfast lost this weekend as have Sheffield, with four points this weekend ourselves the fans would be giving much praise of course but that's (as has been said)the season over. You can see the mentality, recruitment, late showing or plain not bothered regards things like out home affairs (pics of staffing), the club have even the chance to save dosh by getting rid of dead wood in Doucet too but fail to go with that.

We shouldn’t be talking about games in this way. I class myself as a positive fan, I know many others who follow the club that are in that mould as well, but this season is taking it’s toll on people’s support.

Yep The way this season has gone and with the passing of GM the one person who should have stepped up, shown his face and taken the lead is Neil Black. And yet what’s happened....zero,absolutely nothing at all from him. Poor leadership that, very very poor indeed !

His leadership probably consists of checking the balance sheet is healthy and nothing more. He obviously has zero interest in the actual mechanics of the club.

Something else about last nights' off-ice presentation, and this isn't a moan at Panthers. Ollie & Mathieu posed for a pregame photo with the match mascot. But at the end of the game the Mom presentation (posing for a photo with the sponsor) did not take place due to covid protocol. Have I got this wrong, can someone explain why one is ok but not the other.

Woeful, because I was there. Clan played their road game and it worked, we seemed to have little idea. Note to defence, when on the PK keep an eye for the forward standing just outside of the crease completely unmarked waiting for the pass and simple tap in.
19 shots in the 2nd period, and I reckon Brassard must have taken 12 of them and Thow most of the rest. It was enter the zone, pass, pass, a couple passes, get to the man on the blue for him to shoot straight at the keeper. Opposition NM's must love playing us as their save average goes way up. And why do they always have a right handed shooter on the right side and a left hander on the left, absolutely no chance of getting a one timer off.
Now there were some good plays and at times seemed unlucky not to score but Clan did a good job of collapsing around the keeper to prevent a goal.
As asked before, and attenders will see, Thow does not yet have his picture on the board, likewise for Richards so Hedberg will have no chance possibly before the end of the season.

The MOM sponsor was probably so bored with the game they’d disappeared off home before the end and couldn’t be found. 🤣 So Panthers thought quick for once and blamed it on that good old excuse of Covid protocol.

He was watching from a stool at the plexi glass. He was walking with a crutch Doubt we'll see him for a few more weeks then. They've actually posted an update: Given Lee just missed his 30th game, I'd question Panthers use of "good progress".

I think we all agree the league title is well gone, but looking at the standings as they are, just a little investment in a few top end players and it could've been a different story with so many games left to play. I know it's all if's, buts and maybes, however even if we'd have just won the last 3 games we'd have only been 7 points off Sheffield. Unlikely yes, but you could at least have some hope. Of course you can pick from many of our poor performances and make up a few extra points, but that little run of league losses after that little good run just stood out to me. A Lepine type Dman and Fournier actually making it to the ice along with Hedberg could've been enough to at least help us compete. Would likely have been at least some step up from dull as dishwater.

I think we all agree the league title is well gone. The league title was gone in early May after the Elite Series ended. That hollow victory set the seed for this recruitment effort.

On the Sheffield webcast they said that Lee was going to be out for some time yet I understand that Doucet wants the right player but in our position beggars can’t be choosers. Doherty left on 6th January, meaning we’ve now played 9 games with 5 dmen, even if we brought in a player who was only going to be IR cover and did a job until Lee returned, at least it would have taken some pressure off the rest of the team. I just don’t understand the decisions that are being made.
