Sheffield’s speed really is bringing them success, their first two goals highlighted that.
A lot of the players deserve credit for the fight that they showed tonight, they at least played for some pride and in the end it was a close game. The call on Matheson at the end was bewildering though, but coupled with the blatant high stick from Myers it helped Sheffield see the game out.
We do have to question what is going on at the minute though, I could understand Jokinen leaving if a player is coming off IR but no one has returned. Did Suoranta request to be released? Whether these two would have had an impact today is up for debate, but I think they’d offer more than the young duo of Hopkins and Clarke.
Coming out of a period where we haven’t been training and starting this run of games with only 12 imports is a joke, not only to the fans, but I imagine the rest of the team.

Latal is probably the fastest skater in the league. He's scored some great breakaways this year. Polak's looking an inspired signing, 7 points on his last 4 games?
Annoying that it seems that Panthers managed to lose by an ENG in a game where they cost themselves perhaps 3 goals? The Finn situation is baffling, smacks of them wanting out rather than the club?

I don’t know why they bother with Finns. Other than Alhroos and Koivanouro from years ago I’m struggling to think of any that have had much impact. Stick to Canadians and Americans with a couple of Czechs or Slovaks would be my choice.

And judging by today’s Panthers news article it doesn’t look like Domingue or Lee are back anytime soon and not much movement on Carozza either. If only the office knew what they were doing ! 🙄

Great GRS also. Apparently 23 sog from us with 20 saves by their netty. Though the Sheffield team had 29 sog when adding up players individual shot, we only had 5 sog as a team but from the individual player shot count we had 23 or do they just like that number? Now I know things are corrected after the game but come on? On the way to being a second embarrassingly run season as regards match detail. We (as far as I know) have not had any changes from our games of 11th and 12th December, so this does not auger well. 56.05 HO-Sticks given to Matheson.

I think the Panthers did as well as they could yesterday. No complaints about anyone and Carr played very well most of the game.

And they wonder why this league is so tinpot and why the BBL get millions thrown at it and nothing at the eihl when you see garbage like this Presumably the EIHL are saying that Sheffield haven't got the camera angles for the refs to see, when they could and should have, so can't complain when things don't go their way? Unedifying from both sides.
