In fairness we are a better side than last night, but last night the Panthers rightfully took the win, we could still be playing now and still wouldn’t score.Carr had a very good game and the out players played like their lives depended on it, and done the big Panthers travelling fans proud. Hopefully the lad who went off injured has a speedy recovery, it was quite sickening to see him in a pretty bad state, but it was a bit of a boost when he was stretchered off to see him sitting up. Anyway your team responded as they should do, and we most certainly didn’t, a few new faces at Nottingham and you should be a force, in this league it looks like if any team has a good day they could end up winning. Finally big shout out to the Panthers faithful travellers, after watching the dire performance Friday they got their just rewards, they were out in numbers, very loud, and obviously had a good night, so you win some, you lose some, that’s sport. Happy Hockey Days.

We are very much a Jeckle and Hyde Team!! Were not though..actually as consistent as any other team in the league. The parity is very real. Sheffield’s start will look better but they’ve played all their cup games against Manchester. List 2 home league games like us. I honestly think this could be the closest run league in a long time Agreed. It's hard to tell too much after month 1 of a 6 month season. Not really Jekyll & Hyde, seems like just one poor performance against a very good team who played well. In that situation, any gap is exaggerated. Giants play below par, Panthers above and the result is different. Panthers could do with getting a few less injuries, though. Domingue's was a one in a thousand chance, but a deeper squad might be nice.

Credit where credit is due for the result, a good response to the tosh that was Friday. As I said before Cardiff don’t have the same aura as before so FairPlay to the team for taking advantage of that.
However winning can mask a lot of issues, we still require some new bodies to stop putting pressure on the team and reduce the risk of further injuries.

Getting into Cardiff yesterday and seeing that we were missing Baillargeon, I thought it could be a long night but the team showed their character and ground out a brilliant win.
Going into the third period we had three forward lines, Kelsall moved onto the 2nd line and really thrived, then 17 y/o Hopkins went onto the 3rd line and also put in a top performance, they did us proud.
Friday night was a tough watch but the team were back to playing how we’ve seen, composed on the puck, we transitioned well through the neutral zone and we were forechecking hard making into difficult for Cardiff’s defence.
It was worrying to see Domingue being stretchered off but I hope he has a quick recovery and the cut hasn’t caused further long-term damage. The team seemed to rally together after this though and battled even harder to see the win out. It was a good atmosphere in IAW, our fans got louder as the game went on and the players were quite appreciative of the support at the end of the game which was great to see.
Top night, results like that are the reason we follow the team.

You guys certainly did your team proud, it was good to see so many of you there and a safe journey home. Hope the injured guy gets well soon he is a big loss, as you say the team certainly rallied together, and when that happens usually good things come of it.

Interesting "left field" possibility being mentioned on the Devils forum as to why they played so badly was their grey jerseys. Runs along the lines that, the Devils players were instinctively looking for the red jersey in their peripheral vision. Not seeing this colour affected their ability to make effective passes and plays.

PMSL As excuses go that’s on a par with the Clan suddenly blaming COP26 for having to cancel their first three home games ! 🤣🙄

Another "left field" possibility is Skalde's head is more focused on the other side of the pond watching how his legal suit against the Pittsburgh Penguins organisation is moving forward. I said a couple of months ago he could be the weak link. His previous coaching record isn't anything to write home about, he was never a recruiter, in his OHL/AHL stints that was all done by OHL GM's and NHL affiliates. He was never a GM.

Doesn't Kelman take the role of GM down there?

Kelman is our GM, and Skalde is the right man for his job.

Being there, it was really tense therefore, I may have seen things differently as I didn't think that Cardiff weren't as poor as everybody was saying.
It was a tense game as the 1st Goal was long coming but it was worth it. The Panther Fans were certainly in full voice by the end.
The Domingue injury was horrible at first, I thought he lost his Skate initially.
Thought the Officials were poor. It seem we only got Penalities on every 3rd Infraction, Cardiff committed, yet we got called pretty on every one. It also seems that some Penatlies get called, 5 seconds later (Maybe it's me with Panther goggles)
It was a battling performance as after Friday, I was definitely fearing the worst.
Also appreciated Todd Kellman coming over to The Panther Section to give an update on The Domingue Injury. It was certainly something we was concerned and worried with. That kind of thing makes me make want to take the time and effort to go to I.A.W once a Season.
It certainly was a long journey home but it was worth it (The clocks going back certainly helped)

I've seen him come over to us in Belfast and say hello and have a few words. Thornton is cut from the same cloth.

It would just be so easy in a sport that's trying to connect and grow for all organizations to be the same. What a huge difference that would make.

He was on the game sheet, can someone confirm? Match write up says he was pulled out of the lineup before warm-up as a precaution. Yet the game sheet has him icing as first line centre, between Suoranta and Lane. I shall note his absence for my "files"...

Looking at the highlights, how often do you see a 5 on 5 powerplay empty net goal? Technically, it's a 5 on 4 PPG, I think?

Fun fact. Matt Lane leads the Panthers in shots in the 6 league games, with 22, but is yet to score a point of any description. He has 1+4 from 4 cup games, though.
