Expect confirmation of league season cancellation within the next week.. Shh... It's supposed to be a secret... A vote is taking place at the end of the week, nearly if not all the teams have now realised the season cannot go ahead. Decision is being made early enough to allow signed players to look for other teams/employment. Isn't that thoughtful.. you mean the lkles of Martin, vally etc won't fancy taking a year out and wait for hockey here to return such is those two fabulous organisations 😂😂

Why will they? It's not like they'll have paid them anything yet.

I don’t think the Steelers as a club will come out of it looking silly. Whilst I disagree with the approach of re-signing/announcing players given the pandemic and associated restrictions I can at least understand the logic of “planning for the best”
It’ll be those vocal parts of the fan base that have mocked ourselves/Giants standpoint that will end up looking slightly daft because they’ll have been excited for nothing. However I still don’t expect it to bother them because some of the comments/chirps have been of the usual low level/unfunny normally associated with the “rivalry”

Remember all the comments from panthers fans saying why can't we keep hold of any players.. what was the problem. Anyway see you next September folks ..🖐

The players have their families to look after, they have a decision to make.

They made the decision to sign players, as did many other teams. Seems a needless dig this, at least they showed some interest in competing, unlike one or two others.

They all chose one route, Panthers & Belfast (Who are actually in some trouble 'financially') chose another. If anything Panthers could be criticised for not actually trying at all.

Which is correct and why Panthers took the early decision to do what they did and have been proved And for once Panthers did the right thing. There was never going to be a season,so signing players like the Steelers did based on nothing but the faintest of faint hopes was actually a bad thing for the players rather than looking after them. Those guys have now got to go out there pretty late in the off season searching for jobs in a much reduced market.

Also for the league on the whole it presents a bad impression imo, why couldn't all the teams agree on the actions & take the same approach?

We know those fab 7 steelers signed don't have a high ceiling like Herr has but are now in a difficult situation trying to get the best wage they can for themselves and their families

Come on jord get with the programme for as long as its been known there's 9 owners all with their own ideas and most go off in their own sweet way cracking on what they think is best. This league has always been the same.. it will never change.

Owners with vested interests is commonplace, however there's a time to come together for the good of the product. It, as ever, disappoints.

It's up to the players if they sign or not, no one forced them and plenty have already gone elsewhere. To the clubs it's made no difference, they've not shipped anyone over here or paid any wages.

It is up to the players yes,but it depends how it was sold to them. “Yes no worries here Vally,we will be starting in October”. “Oh sorry Vally,we’re definitely going to start in December now”. “Oh no really really sorry Vally,we’re cancelling the season now so you know that contract you signed, well it ain’t worth owt so bin it”.
