Carr - yes, stats don’t lie Whistle - yes, think he could be used slightly better Gospel - no, give him a chance to build a career elsewhere
Fick - maybe, like what he brings but could be upgraded Desantis - maybe, good quality but has missed a lot and could be upgraded for a younger model? Matheson - yes, with managed ice time continuing his coaching duties Lepine - yes, much improved this season. Honestly feel he stands taller when he’s more of a go to guy with regards to protecting his teammates Connelly - yes, silky smooth Tetlow - yes, could we send him to an NA type camp like Cardiff do with Bowns, has all the attributes but feel next season he needs to be good enough to demand a regular slot Deutsch - maybe, injured a lot but has a good CV at a young age. Would love a full season out of him.
Lacho - yes, still a good defensive forward, just a shame he peaked so young Perlini - yes, priority Hazeldine - no, same as gospel Kelsall - yes, could become a decent defensive forward too Malmquist - no, decent player but can be upgraded Golovkovs - no, same as above Hansen - yes, had a great impact since coming in, genuine scorer Horvat - yes, really like him, chippy energetic and a worker Herr - yes, goes without saying. Chuck it all at him. Tousignant - yes, potential to be a real cult figure is there to see. Real character that I feel every team needs Talbot - yes, class guile and experience. Like him. Betteridge - yes, continues to improve, very solid brit Rheault - no, self explanatory Bulmer - yes, with the right line mates we could have a real nuisance line.

Herr Hansen Connolly Matheson Perlini Betteridge Whistle The rest bring very little and simply aren’t good or effective enough. Watched many games to form that opinion have you? Talbot is almost a point per game and has been great overall. Deutsch has been very good lately. Only a few games in but Binkley looks very good(even last night). Cant be bothered to go through everybody else. There are a few missing from your list I agree with you on. Golovkos in particular. Simply a player that Cardiff wouldnt sign.

Its easy to make a knee jerk reaction after a bad defeat like last night but considering the position the current players have got us in after a terrible start to the season i would be happy to see the vast majority back as they are the only players to put us in a genuine title challenge for years. The imports i'd definitely like to see back are:- Connelly Deutsch Fick is back anyway so may as well include him Matheson Hansen Herr Talbot
I'd be happy enough to see:- Lepine Horvat Carr
50/50 on:- Golovkovs (has been much better recently) Malmquist (needs to up his production but he's young and a first year pro so he should get better)
Can't have an opinion on Tousignant or Binkley as i've been on holiday since early Feb and haven't seen them yet.
On the Brit front I'd keep Lacho. He does his job as a defensive forward and a penalty killer and the import limit is reducing next year which means you need more Brits to fill the roster so it would be a bad move to let him go now. I think he's fine on the 4th line.
What i would like to see from Panthers with the reduction of imports is to aggressive on the Brit front. If Farmer doesn't re-sign i'd be straight in to bring him back. I'd also like to see us have a go to lure Ferrara from Coventry as it wouldn't surprise me after the season he's had that Sheffield or Cardiff try to get him too. I'd also like to see them use the Perlini connection to bring in Scott Conway too

Carr - No Whistle - Yes Gospel - Yes
Fick - Yes Matheson - Yes Lepine - Maybe Connelly - Yes Tetlow - Yes Deutsch - Yes Binkley - Maybe (depending on if his performances continue)
Lacho - Maybe (depends on who else is available) Perlini - Yes Hazeldine - Yes Kelsall - Yes Malmquist - Yes Golovkovs - No (great on his day but way too inconsistent) Hansen - No (not 1st line material, doesn’t turn up for big games and makes way too many unforced errors and turnovers) Horvat - Yes Herr - Yes Tousignant - Yes Talbot - Yes Betteridge - Yes Rheault - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carr - No Whistle - Yes, decent back up Gospel - Pointless, he's older than Whistle
Fick - No, too many dumb penalties, but he'll be back anyway (Uni) Desantis - No Matheson - Yes on less minutes Lepine - No Connelly - Yes Tetlow - If he only gets the ice time he's had this year what's the point? Deutsch - No Binkley - Too soon to judge
Lacho - NO! I don't care if he's from Beeston or Bulgaria, JUST SIMPLY NO!! Perlini - Yes Hazeldine - See Tetlow Kelsall - See Hazeldine Malmquist - No Golovkovs - No Hansen - Yes Horvat - No Herr - No brainer - Yes Tousignant - Maybe, bit to soon to make a judgement Talbot - Yes Betteridge - Yes Rheault - For the love of God - NO! Bulmer - No
Recruit some 'proper' Brits (Eg; Farmer, Conway, Ferrara, Davies) & a proper Goalie (Robins/Kowalski)

On a serious note, the Brits situation is a critical one. But why would Davies, Farmer, etc leave their current clubs to come to Nottingham. They could earn more at Belfast, win more at Cardiff, be looked after better at Sheffield. We aren't known for attracting Brits recently. I was disappointed with Perlini last night

No amount of money will attract the likes of Conway to this league for a good few years...his stock is a lot higher than this league

If the Brits are earning x amount (lets say £100 per week) and the Imports are earning y amount (lets say £200 per week) you aren't going to pay the Brits twice what they are worth, because you then have to pay the imports more, and I doubt the club isn't earning that sort of revenue. So you offer to pay the Brits 15% more, would they want to move for a 15% rise, say Ben Davies, would he move from a comfortable position in Guilford up to Nottingham, and have to prove himself all over again ? They use the 15% offer as a bargaining tool to get a small rise from their existing club, if it gets turned down then the player has a choice, stay or move..

Put it this way,if you want the best Brits they’re going to cost you. Look at O’Connor and Dowd, both on silly money for their talent, both on probably more than the vast majority of Sheffield’s imports and I bet the two Phillips aren’t cheap either. Compare the two clubs main Brit packs and there is no comparison. Whistle. Lacho Perlini Betteridge O’Connor Dowd J Phillips D Phillips I know which Brit pack I’d have.

I’d rather have ours personally, Perlini and Dowd put up similar points and Perlini is younger and less injury prone. Betteridge and Phillips put up similar points and he’s far younger and likely to improve. I’d rather have Whistle over Phillips because he could become our number 1 and I think that’s more valuable than an average dman. The only player that I’d take is O’Connor and that’s for his offensive output, defensively he’s very poor

Still think it's too early for a definitive list, but here's how I feel at the mo:
Carr - No. Can look great but has too many average games. Whistle - Yes as a backup. Gospel - Only if Whistle doesn't re-sign. Would keep him on a 2-way if poss.
Fick - Yes Desantis - N/A Matheson - Yes, my only concern would be his age, but he's one of my POTY Lepine - Maybe Connelly - Yes Tetlow - Yes Deutsch - Yes Binkley - Too early
Lacho - Maybe, depends if there's other Brits available Perlini - Yes Hazeldine - On a 2-way Kelsall - On a 2-way Malmquist - Maybe Golovkovs - Maybe Hansen - Yes Horvat - Yes Herr - Yes Tousignant - Yes Talbot - Yes Betteridge - Yes Rheault - No Bulmer - No, see description of Carr, fits him too
