Just listened to the interview with Doucet who says he is leaving a difficult situation in Hungary regarding ice time so that may go someway to explaining the lack of points And a team who have won 1 of their last 12 games.

I’ve been on YouTube and had a look at some of Lowen Frankfurt’s highlights from last season and, although you only get to see the goals, Tousignant does figure heavily. He appeared to play centre and he also had a lot of time on their powerplay, positioning himself in front of the goal. He looks to be a bit of a live wire as well, loves a goal celebration😂
Hopefully he can pick up from where he finished last season. One thing to come out of his signing is that Rheault probably won’t figure on the powerplay anymore.

So Doucet says money was available for a while but they wanted to wait for the right guy ? Blimey the market must have been very dry the last month if a guy coming off back surgery and on a 1 point season is the best they could do ! 🙄🙄 It appears that Black has given them backing though, wouldn’t you agree? Yes and I’d venture they haven’t spent it very wisely.

Yes, that could be the case, and if it is Doucet and Wallace will be to blame for that. Doucet has stated that funds have been available for a while, so evidently Black has backed the team hasn’t he?

Before this season I’d have said great signing. But having spinal surgery in October and coming back to register 1 point in 15 games leads me to think he might not be the player he was. Hope I’m wrong Billy Ryan had back surgery prior to joining Panthers... he played every game with us! Yes Pidge....and i also remember Mark Lee ! He’d had back surgery too and if i remember correctly he either didn’t at all or barely played a game for Panthers !! 🙄🤣

Ryan and this guy didn't/isn't! You have no idea how injured or not he might be Pidge. He could quite easily get here and do exactly what Mark Lee did. I bet Lee said to Corey something along the lines of “yep I’m fine and ready to go”....then he got here !

Typical iginla.. always seeing the negatives.. and taking a interest again.. not bad for EX FAN Let’s face it,there aren’t exactly many positives. Out of the Conti Cup. Virtually out of the league. Out of the Challenge Cup. Sign a player off a back injury with a single point in 15 games to his name. You’ll grasp anything to find a positive in it,but a couple of losses and you’ll have changed your mind....again !

It's been one of the better seasons in recent years. Panthers have something to build on. Players who are worth keeping. Into February where it's not a chore to go to a game!

He has been a stud on that line............. What a wage thief he has been from the day he got here! How he ever played on the same ice as the great 8 is beyond me!

One also assumes that the club have done the requisite medical checks. They'd be mad to sign a guy with that history without having him checked over. Just because once, a long time ago, a player arrived here with an injury and left without playing a game doesn't mean that's a regular thing. Bringing up Mark Lee is barrel scraping for negativity. Interestingly, Mark Lee didn't play at all in 2014-15, the year he signed for Panthers, but carried on the year after, playing in various good standard european leagues and was still playing last season in Romania, on the same team as ex EIHL players Jereme Tendler and Cody Carlson.

Somehow I doubt they flew a medic out to Hungary or wherever he was playing just to check him out and I certainly wouldn’t trust a foreign one over the phone. But also why risk it when there are others out there. If you once bought a car with a known fault and it didn’t work, would you go back and buy the same type again. I just don’t see why with Panthers they keep doing this sort of thing, look at Bob Wren,he came in with a known foot injury that Panthers knew about full well and look what happened with him. It just smacks of something odd to me.

If he didn’t have any complications this season and was performing as expected then Tousignant wouldn’t be joining us mid-season. I agree we have to wait and see, and we may have taken a risk, but maybe Gui and Tim know a little bit more than us and have faith in him to perform. The risk could be worthwhile.
