Think we will bust our recent SkyDome malaise. The Grapes Count = Blaze 2 : Panthers 4.

Tough place to go to but I really feel that the team that lost there a few weeks ago would win that game now.
I fancy us 5-3 tonight

4-2 Panthers, a lovely goal finished by Malmquist, nice play from Deutsch and Talbot.
And as I type, 5-2, scored by Lacho, Captain Fantastic making it for him.

Still a long way to go, even at 5-2. Coventry score in bunches at home. We'd better keep scoring

Next goal is massive. We’ve got to keep our nerve. We’ve gifted them that third and a way back into the game. Silly mistake to make. But we’re good enough to see this out.

We'd better keep scoring Not gifting them goals would help though, terrible defensive change for their 2nd and a poor turnover by Herr for their 3rd. We do look dangerous going forward though. The team need to manage this game now though, don’t over commit, work hard and put their bodies on the line to block shots from the point. Every chance the Blaze get at the point they’re throwing the puck on net, we must stop it getting through.

Good win. Now repeat on Sunday against Guildford. A great road win from the Panthers. They managed that 3rd period brilliantly. Looking forward to seeing how we perform against Guildford at home.

Brilliant win, I must admit, I was nervous that we would let that lead slip but they managed the win.
We beat Guildford tomorrow and judging by how the league is going, then who knows what will happen

That's a pleasant scoreline to see... Coventry has often been a bogey location for us, so nice to see a solid win. And another successful outing for Jackson Whistle... nice to see that I may have been wrong about him! Doubling up on an opposing team is always a good thing. Out of idle curiousity, I worked out the highest/lowest scoring teams as of this evening... we are currently sitting 5th in the league with an average of 3.05 Goals For per game, but 3rd in the league with an average of 2.76 Goals Against per game. Which isn't too shabby...

A very pleasing, wel managed, third period.
This team has really reignited my passion for hockey. I look forward to games, I don’t want to get rid of players and I feel a real affinity towards them. I include Tim Wallace in that.
That losing streak was bad. It was really bad. But to put together some form now is great. Especially considering the time of year. I can’t remember winning that many games in December in years let...and it’s only the 7th.

December - played 14 games (inc. 2 Challenge Cup quarter-finals) - won 6, lost 4, OT/penalties loss 4 December in the 17-18 season was actually worse... 11 games played - won 3, lost 6, OT/pens loss 2 December in the 16-17 season was much better... 13 games played - won 8, lost 3, OT/pens loss 1, and 1 draw (CC quarter-final, 1st leg)

Which isn't too shabby... So pretty much what most fans were predicting we have a good defence but not likely to trouble the leading goal scorers... Not necessarily... remember that these stats are for the whole season so far... including The Bad Times (TM) some weeks back. Now 3 of our lowest-scoring import forwards have departed, and in have come Hansen (6+3 in 13 games), Talbot (4+5 in 8 games) and Horvat (1+3 in 2 games)... which is boosting things up - and we can hope/expect that to continue. Plus Bulmer has woken up and is now seriously contributing... and even Malmquist has started scoring! So - if the current trend continues, we will hopefully be rising up the scoring charts. Top in Goals For are Sheffield, but they are 6th for Goals Against... not the safest of combinations! Cardiff are better placed IMO, being 3rd in Goals For and 4th in Goals Against. The other team with a combined ranking of 7 (GF rank plus GA rank... hey, it's a fast-and-dirty way of seeing relative strengths!) is, would you believe, Guildford Flames... joint 6th on Goals For, but top of the league for Goals Against with an average of 2.53 per game. By comparison, our combined ranking is 8... putting us at joint 4th in the league with Belfast. It's not world-beating by any means... but the trend for us appears to be noticeably upwards, which is promising. Still an awful lot of season to go...

It’s difficult to take that point seriously when you’re commenting on a game thread where we scored 6 goals.... I think our goals per game will be massively reduced from the start of the season. Now we look like we can score at will at times.
