A game that we can most definitely win. Depending on what result they achieved at Coventry on Wednesday will determine what mood Storm are in at the weekend. If they had qualified in the Challenge Cup then their confidence should be high. A beating by the Blaze and they could be looking for a "head hunting" revenge night. Either way I see our all-round team play coming out on top. The Grapes Count = Storm 2 : Panthers 3.

I hope this isn’t going to go horribly wrong The referees seem to be doing their best to ensure it does.

I hope this isn’t going to go horribly wrong As previously said nothing of panthers doing so far, 1st should of been goalie interference and the powerplay they scored their second should’ve never of been a call in the first place. Stepped up a little after conceding so hopefully get the next goal and seal the W.

Genuine question is this team conditioned well enough to skate hard for 60 mins?

Genuine question is this team conditioned well enough to skate hard for 60 mins? It's not a fitness thing, we concede instant replies far too often, no matter which period it is.

My god that that was stressful.
It’s an absolute nightmare to play in that rink so any points out of there is great, to get the win is brilliant. A decent weekend overall, 3/4 points on the road can’t be sniffed at, but of course there’s still room for improvement.
We’ve got another tough weekend coming up, the team’s spirits should be high going into. Bring it on.

This years schedule borders on the worst Panthers have ever had in 20 years at that arena!

Genuine question is this team conditioned well enough to skate hard for 60 mins? Yes plenty fit but nowhere near good enough to play the style originally intended. The two guys brought in have transformed the team. Just swap the invisible man for Armstrong and we would be right up there.

8 wins from 10, points from 9.
We’ve actually got some good lines going too, defence needs sorting though. Switching off way too much after scoring.

Right now, we're the form team in the Elite League. We have 9 points out of 10.
Its frustrating that we've let 2 goal leads slip in the last 2 games but we've got 3 points this weekend. If we can pick up that next weekend, we'll be back on track for our season.
Talbot and Hansen have taken us from terrible to the hot team right now. Madness.

Just seen Storm’s first goal and it’s an open and shut goalie interference call. How they took that to video and decided it wasn’t is beyond me, contact is made in the crease as Gagnon shoots which Carr can’t see because he’s been bumped!

And yet they did take it to video, saw it, had a chat and decided it wasn't.

Genuine question is this team conditioned well enough to skate hard for 60 mins? It's not a fitness thing, we concede instant replies far too often, no matter which period it is. Thought I'd try and have a look at this. If you define "instant replies" as a goal scored by the opposition less than 2 minutes after Panthers score, so far this season the Panthers have conceded three such goals in the league, out of the 42 conceded up to prior to this weekend. 2 in the same game vs Cardiff at home, 20 October; one away at the Blaze 27 October. I've genuinely no idea how that stacks up with any other team in the league. Flip it on its head, of the 40 goals Panthers had scored prior to this weekend, Panthers have scored (wait for it) three goals within 2 minutes of being scored on. One in the same game above vs Blaze, one in Dundee, 30 October, and one vs Belfast, 9 November. So, the issue may be one of perception, as it's only happened three times so far this league season, 2 of which were (and that was disappointing, I agree) in the same game. In the 8 CC games, there has been one such goal, Storm's first 23 October, and one Panthers goal within 2 minutes of an opposition goal, Panthers second that same game. In terms of goals conceded by period, again up to before the weekend, the 42 were split 11/14/15 and goals against 10/11/20 (of which 5 were in that blowout game vs Flames (incl 2 ENGs) and one a 6 on 3 PP vs Giants) which undermines a little the initial theory (that Panthers somehow concede more goals in the third because they are poorly conditioned) as they also score more goals in the third than the first two. If they were indeed "badly conditioned", you'd surely production to drop off as well as goals against increase? Anyhoo, hope that helps.

Nice road win, despite dropping points in Shuff it looks like the team is heading in the right direction overall Regard the fitness issue, I wonder whether its more a product of our lack of (scoring and general) depth meaning the top two lines are getting played more than they otherwise would? Can only go off the stats here as I've not been to a game since pre-season, but we have four import forwards (Quist, Malmqvist, Rheault, Golovkovs) who account for a total of 5 goals between them all so far. I'll give Golovkovs a pass as I believe he's been seen as primarily a set up guy (9A so far), but that still means we have a full line of imports who have only scored 4 goals between them almost three months into the season... In seasons gone we could perhaps absorb some of that lack of production with Clarkie or Farmer in the line up but this season it just means we're relying on the top two lines to do the scoring. By way of comparison, we have two players in the top twenty scoring (Herr 6th, Perlini 17th) whilst Steelers have six including 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th! (Just to balance out any negativity in this post I should also say that whilst I'm moaning about our secondary scoring here, the EIHL website has Joey Martin, Blair Riley and Linglet at a total of 6 goals so far Cardiff... )

On paper this has been a good weekend for us and I really don't want to criticise but we have got to stop coughing up leads in games.
One point in Sheffield is a good result for us, but we should've had two. In Manchester, we almost threw away a game where we were three goals up. It's got to stop.
I was expecting a little rust with the guys having only had two days of training last week and again, three points is a great result and seeing the fact we've taken 9 out of the last 10 points is superb too.
But yeah, I hate criticising the team after a successful weekend, on the back of a three in three, but we need to fix how we manage games when we're leading. Whether it's a case of going all out to increase leads, or parking the bus, we need to figure it out before we start dropping too many more points after a very substandard start to the season.
