Another signing will be announced this evening! Any guesses? Jordan Bueusa has just left Clan? Would be a fantastic addition to our under 23 players tbh.

Interesting.... Especially given earlier in the day they said there wouldn't be a signing today Could've been a bluff of course... Or maybe it was an offer to player who they thought would most likely go to a different club in a higher league? Time will tell..... Ifitis Buesa then it will mean Kelsall & Tetlow would have to go on a 2 way deal somewhere...

Don't think so, we have signed three on an under 23 deal, with one on a two way deal already, so don't we have room for one more full time U23? We have lost David Clarke, so he could be his replacement.

Which is if one of the Brits already signed has changed his mind...or has a very serious injury. Which I think is also very unlikely. Personally I think it's an import...

Great signing, point a game in the coast last year and another big body. Welcome to Nottingham.

Another big, young forward and he also looks like he will drop the gloves but let’s hope he can provide us some offence, I’m guessing he will be on the 2nd or 3rd line. Welcome to Nottingham Alex.

Another big body who can score goals. We’ve got a very solid blue print to a team this year.
And he can look after himself too. A real team toughness for us this season

Im starting to get a tad concerned about the balance of the foward lines.
This guy looks very similar to Henderson, and we already have Farmer and Doty.
We sure look big, and have loads of secondary scoring. However im really hoping we still have that x factor guy to sign. The likes of Fox/ling.
I think ones things for sure, we're not getting bullied anywhere.

Most underwhelming signing of the summer for me so far. Not writing him off as I never do and I really hope he does well. I guess it's also to do with what we already have signed. We had 3 forwards left to get and I was expecting wow signings for points production. Not judging him as a bad player, just more the balance and how he fits the team.
If he is completing the bottom 6 then i'm sure he can do a role and do it well. The last 2 forwards must be top liners with real quality.
Import Import Rheault Perlini Pither Kovacs Farmer Henderson Doty Guptill Lacho Beteridge

I think people are starting to overestimate our league purely based of the fact we got through the first round of the CHL.

Not big production before that. I will be very dissapointed if he is top 2 lines. The league is getting better and he wouldn't be close to Cardiffs top 2 lines. He may be 3rd line but i put the bang bang line together.

Well over a point per game last season on a very poor team.

I think the top 2 lines need to be pretty close in quality next year. Ultimately we were way off Cardiff last year and we need to upgrade overall(altgough I believe a chunk of that was down to coaching). I'm simply hoping we get 2 studs to complete the forward lines.

He's got the quality to put up good numbers in a league of this quality considering his stats in the ECHL and I think he'll be a great player for us. Personally I believe he has a lot of pressure on him to perform well, not just because it's his first venture outside of North America but because of his quite rocky past. During his College years he was benched quite a bit for showing a poor attitude and bad habits during practices. It didn't end there. He was also arrested for two counts of assault and battery, and one count of public urination which saw a sentence of 49 handed to him. I'm assuming the sentence was suspended or conditional, i.e. community service. But whilst all of that isn't good to hear, this was over 4 years ago during his likely crazy time at University. Trouble adapting to the University Hockey player lifestyle perhaps. He mentioned in an interview how he owned up to all of his mistakes and troubles, and willingly accepted the consequences. Also thanked his coach at Michigan for his very strict approach and way of dealing with him and then described how that ever since the troubling times he's been determined to put things right. Working on ensuring his work level is high and consistent, maintaining his offensive quality and working on defence, just overall being a more mature and responsible player. I've got mid level expectations, but I think he'll do well and I sure hope he does. Happy with the signing anyway. ottawasun.com/2014/09/12/fresh-start-for-alex-guptill/wcm/4a168a28-2013-4172-8a9a-8e270545faa3Edit: After appearing in court he had one assault charge overturned. The 'assault' was causing another person to be In fear of violence. It was classed as a misdemeanour and he was put on probation, which he completed. His coach in Michigan suspended him as a result and upon completion of the suspension he then managed to play in all but 3 games which he missed due to injury. He sounds like a good kid who got a bit too drunk and made a few mistakes but has worked very hard since to get himself focused. Again, I'm happy.

Guptill has identical PPG stats at ECHL to Sebastien Sylvertre and coming off an even better year to the EIHL than he did. If he follows the same pattern he should score plenty of points. Think greater attention to detail is needed when reading stats of elite prospects as they can be easily misread and made to look underwhelming

He may not be a 4th liner but I dont think he stands out as somebody as a top 6 forward production wise to help us overtake Cardiff. I've not said he is a bad player either. The fact I put him on the 4th line is the reason I said it was an underwhelming signing. Because I'm not sure where he fits with what we have. He could play 3rd line and Doty 4th line for example.
