Why would I have complained at Paris. Experienced AHL,DEL and decent ECHL or better is what we want. Compare him to what we've signed so far this year and I'd take Paris over any of our new skater signings. You are comparing Paris who will be a top pairing d man with Billingsley who will be 3rd/4th to be fair. And you can't compare d men with forwards lol I'm not comparing anybody with anybody Pidge. Read the post I'm replying to. I'm just saying I would have been happy enough with Paris, but not overly excited.

Former Cardiff D man Carl Hudson signs for MK.
Looks like pretty clever recruitment by them so far....
Lots of EIHL experience already, goals and toughness. They should do alright.

Mk look ok on paper so far. Gilford look underwhelming for me though. I think they will struggle if they dont bring in a couple of bigger signings.

I agree with you that MK look ok import wise but as far as brits go they do look weak, with only Griffin & Hook who look to have quality. Therefore they may struggle with the depth of their squad unless they add more (Jon Weaver has been rumoured). For me Guildford presently look stronger than MK in terms of Brits but I agree with you that they do at the moment look weaker on the import front. Neilson has got away with lazy recruiting for far too long and is now getting found out - especially with the restrictions Neil Black is placing on him in terms of the players he wants at the club.

This should be correct:
Belfast: 1x NM, 3 x D, 4 x F. 8 players in total, 4 imports, 4 Brits, 0 U-23s. (Assuming Saviano & Murphy have signed for next season) Braehead: 2 x NM, 2 x D, 6 x F. 10 players in total, 3 imports, 4 Brits, 3 U-23s. Cardiff: 1 x NM, 4 x D, 6 x F. 11 players in total, 7 imports, 3 Brits,1 U-23. Assuming Lord plays. Coventry: 2 x NM, 5 x D, 7 x F. 14 players in total, 8 imports, 1 Brit, 5 U-23s. Dundee: 2 x NM, 4 x D, 8 x F. 14 players in total, 8 imports, 2 Brits, 4 U-23s. Edinburgh: 0 x NM, 3 x D, 2 x F. 5 players in total, 3 imports, 0 Brits, 2 U-23s. Assuming D'Orazio & Plews come back for their 2nd year. Fife: 0 x NM, 1 x D, 1 x F. 2 players in total, 2 imports, 0 Brits, 0 U-23s. Guildford: 1 x NM, 5 x D, 5 x F. 11 players in total, 7 imports, 4 Brits, 0 U-23s. Manchester: 2 x NM, 3 x D, 6 x F. 11 players in total, 7 imports, 2 Brits, 2 U-23s. MK: 2 x NM, 4 x D, 8 x F. 14 players in total, 8 imports, 1 Brits, 5 U-23s. Nottingham: 3 x NM, 6 x D, 8 x F. 17 players in total, 8 imports, 4 Brits, 5 U-23s. Presumably they've got a fair bit of that team signed up, and they're just releasing the news slowly. The signings on the website always have interviews with the player & coach.
We obviously announce deals the second the ink on the contract can be touched without smudging it and making Gary run another copy off on the office dot matrix, so we're unable to put any effort into things like that.

Strange how there's ink on a contract just before a ST deadline then eh

Ulmer back at Cardiff! //www.cardiffdevils.com/news/ulmer-back-another-season/ They don't have any trouble re signing a title winning side tbf who wouldn't want to play in Cardiff. They know exactly what they are gonna get from the rest of the team and owners. if I was a player that knew the league that's the first place I would go, shame really but it's true.

I'd pick Cardiff too. At least they pay their players from the date they get there. Where as Panthers don't and sit there wondering why our guys either leave it until the very last minute or are late getting here ! 🙄

From a set date, which this year will be presumably the 7th August. That's why the vast majority just leave it as late as possible to get here. Can't blame the players really can you. Where as in Cardiff,if they get here a bit early, they get paid for it.

In most jobs the pay starts from when the job does, doesn't seem particularly unusual. Just make the start date sensible.

In most jobs your not flying several thousand miles, dealing with jet lag, getting your fitness where it should be and getting yourself and/or the family comfortable in a new city and country. Nothing particularly wrong with Panthers way,but it's yet another little detail that could influence potential players where they go.

Their fitness should be where it needs to be before they get on the plane.
If game 1 is on day X, and Panthers say their contract starts on day X - 1, I get the complaint, but I'm assuming they don't do that. Provided that start date is the start of camp I don't really see an issue. There have been examples (plenty) where for whatever reason we allow players to not turn up on that date - like Captain Moran - but I'd rather they were being docked wages for that, rather than given more for having the decency of being professional and getting here in enough time to be ready for work to start.

They would get docked if they turned up late at Panthers. They only start getting paid from either the first day of camp if they are here for it,or the first day they get here if they're late. If they get here a week before camp starts they don't get paid that week,in Cardiff they do. Like I say,Panthers way is ok,but it's one of those little differences that all add up.

I am glad Pacha has the chance to continue coaching over here with the Stars think he done well at Storm and Hull with what he had.
Boxill was a surprise signing for LIghtning imo. Thought he would stay at Giants with the lack of brits but I here he had trouble with coach Keefe.

Yes pleased for Pacha, seems a good bloke and did a good job at Hull and Manchester. Can't say I'm sorry about Lefebvre departing, something always seemed a bit false about him.

I don't think he had any 8issues with keefe as they were tweeting each other about being the legion of doom pretty much straight after it happned I think Boxill is the type of Brit they need but also, he'll get the chance to be considered on of their tier 1 Brits there and get ice time to reflect that
