The home match against the Caps on Monday the 2nd of Jan has been brought forward to a 4pm FO to meet popular demand.
The match now clashes with the Nottingham Forest home match which is a 3pm kick off.

Seems a very very strange move. It's Kids for a quid at Forest anyway plus season ticket holders can get tickets for £10 each for adults! Wonder how many of the marginal supporters like me will pay £10 to watch Forest rather than £16 to watch Panthers v Caps!

If it's by popular demand, when did this happen? Just asking as past history would tell you anyway surely?

This is so annoying ! I'd planned to take daughter Kirsty to panto (14:30 start), have something to eat in town, and then go to the hockey (19:30). Plans now scuppered (unless I don't bother with Panthers !). But then it's a waste of 2 season tickets. I know that dates / times sometimes need to change, but this date and time has been in place since the fixtures were announced. Why change it so late in the day ? 'Popular demand' ? I'd be interested to know the sources of this 'popular demand'. Maybe I'm over reacting, but it really hacks me off when this sort of thing happens. Planning around Christmas and New Year is difficult enough, without this sort of thing happening.
There, I feel better now !!!

Being cynical I'd say it's been moved to clash with the Supporters Trust meeting due that evening at 6pm.

Like you say Forest offer their fans at £10 pp if ST holder (assume you don't pay up front full cost pre season -!...or it would mean a refund) and Panthers lose the chance to offer this with the game v Braehead for option of profit rather than encourage fans for the future. Can the TRUST bring forward its meeting or save till after...BIG media needed to help with this.Typical.

This works out better for me - I'm not keen on late night matches when I have work the next day.

I just happened to be talking to a Forest season ticket holder in the office about the change of time and how it doesn't make sense at short notice to make it clash with Forest. At that point he said about the reduced ticket price he can get. Previously I'd been planning to go to the supporters trust meeting then Panthers. Now I'll be at Forest and come back to town for the meeting.

Wonder if Rob has a reply from the club yet.

Being cynical I'd say it's been moved to clash with the Supporters Trust meeting due that evening at 6pm. If anything it helps. Move the meeting to 6:30pm and get people in leaving the game, this works for 2 reasons: 1) More people are around after a game, having a meeting at 6pm before a 7pm start you'd miss a lot of people who get to games just before they start as they would miss this meeting anyway. This gives you chance to reach those people. 2) People have already planned to be out until gone 9pm to attend this game, they attend the meeting at 6:30 and even if it runs for 2 hours they're home earlier than they normally would be. Win win.

I don't see anything anywhere on social media or people busting through the arena doors. I suspect it's at the arenas convenience more so than it being a fan demand.
It'd be a first for them to listen to the fanbase and do something.

Just to confirm. The Supporters Trust meeting will be going ahead straight after the game.

There we go then. The Trust on the ball in answer to this in order to help fans objective to attend both. As NYPanther says as equally if not better to catch folk (but if anyone one was going to the meeting pre game from leaflet they'd be there anyway - - but hope no one blames the change on anyone outside the club)... Yet unfortunately some poeple may just want to get home after the game , like people do and may have forgotten a meeting. Maybe some who would have gone to the meeting prior also. Reason why folks have to understand all is being done by the Trust members to accomodate all.

Don't really care what time it faces off,but don't insult the fans intelligence by saying it was by popular demand....it just wasn't. Panthers never listen to their fans !
Seems a pretty dumb move though to change it and clash with a Forest game.

Probably done it to give the Caps less time to get here, an earlier start for them. Glad FTM managed to change his time aswell & hope lots of people attend.

Quite simple - GM is a horrible person and full of BS. He has seen the Supporters Trust's leaflet and is going out of his way to do everything to scupper the meeting. The club would never normally change the times to clash with a football match, as they know that a good number of fans would have loved to make it a "sporting day" by going to both games - 100% this is to have a go at the Supporters Trust!!

I have to agree. Last season we played on the same day, it was an evening faceoff, and the game sheet says 6000+ in attendance. Popular demand my R's.

Selfishly, its better for me but it's an absolute farce. it just stinks and it's typical BS spewed. People plan their Christmas and New Years plans well in advance and to throw a spanner in the works is just bad form. ST clearly has him worried.

Whilst I agree the "popular demand" reason is probably BS, 2016 "popular demand" has brought us Boaty McBoatface, Brexit, Trump and Honey G. So I wouldn't completely rule it out...

Stupid. Should have been set at the time the fixture was announced. What has the date of new year crept up and surprised them a week before it happens? Just shows how short sighted the club are.

Whilst I agree the "popular demand" reason is probably BS, 2016 "popular demand" has brought us Boaty McBoatface, Brexit, Trump and Honey G. So I wouldn't completely rule it out... Good point... As with everyone else, I'm sure that this "popular demand" claim has to be total bovine excrement... if there was so much demand, how come there's not been a whisper of it on here, on Facebook, on Twitter, yadda yadda yadda...? I mean - has anybody actually HEARD anyone requesting such a move? Anyone? No... didn't think so. Normally I'd be fully in favour of the face-off on a Bank Holiday Monday being 4pm (work the next day, etc) although I had been thinking of going to another event beforehand... good job I hadn't already forked out for tickets. But the timing absolutely sucks - less than 2 weeks before the game, during a time of year when people have to plan stuff weeks in advance! And to make it clash with a Forest home game seems to be just the depths of stupidity. We know that someone from the Panthers does read the Cage from time to time... so a bit of advice:- Before thinking of doing something like this, sit down and actually have a think about what you are doing. Because if "popular demand" is the best justification that the club can come up with, then you are shooting yourselves in the foot big-style. Quite frankly, your whole approach to PR and fan relationships is getting so badly-judged, you probably couldn't do a worse job if you tried. Sit down and have a think - how would YOU feel about this kind of thing if you were on the receiving end? Take ego out of the equation, if there truly is some kind of action here against this Supporters Trust meeting then take animosity out of the equation as well... use your head, not your adrenal gland. THINK. Basically, Panthers - if you're trying to convert even the fans who don't constantly moan into enemies, you're going exactly the right way about it. Bite the reality sandwich - remember that we are people, not just walking wallets.
