We could look at doing a podcast special with fans on both sides of the debate. It would be nice if we could get someone from the club as well but that's unlikely. Iginla V PantherB the Faceoff! You could sell tickets.... Good idea though Jono, maybe look to get a couple of more moderate views as well.....

Do what Manchester United did years ago and put together a protest shirt when they wanted changes. Still support the team and make a very big impact at the same time.

I'm going to be honest: I will attend games without fail because it isn't the fault of the guys on the ice as to what has happened.
To me, there should be a fan forum. If things were explained, people would be less disgruntled. It's the lack of updates that infuriates me.

It would be nice if we could get someone from the club as well but that's unlikely. This is such a huge part of the problem. I dont slag off the Panthers organisation at every opportunity, but thier communication and interaction with the fanbase is lackluster to put it mildly. Its as if it an active effort to have as little contact as physically possible. Panthers seem to try and come across as all proffesional. 'We dont deal in rumors' 'we'll make announcements when the i's are dotted and the t's crossed' 'we've signed this sponsor for the 8th year running' ... But not replying to emails and generally not keeping their fans in the loop of genuine concerns is very unproffesional for a sports team in my eyes. It feels like anything thats said falls on deaf ears and is a totally pointless effort. No feed back at all, nothing.

Boycott a period of a game....?! Just all stand on the concourse for the 2nd period e.g.
Silent protest if you like, no aggro. Would certainly get the players talking. I'd be up for this purely to see what the arena staff do with us all.

Pick a CC only cup for a boycott, that way season ticket holders will not loose out!
To be honest I'm not attending all games, 5x Cardiff 5x Sheffield etc, I do hope that if we have 11 teams in the Elite League they go with a different format, I did hear Simmsey say Neil Black as put forward a system but he did not elaborate.

Boycotting the QF cup game (if we get there) is an absolute must. We have to take this further this season & reach more people.

I'd be up for this purely to see what the arena staff do with us all. If the need arises this is a really good idea. A visable/noticeable protest is made without sacrificing the entire game....... Although Gary would use the opportunity to sell you more beer, burgers and 50/50 tickets.

Now, getting on air about this is more like a sensible option. It can be viewed and digested. Unlike match programme comment without a reply.

I like this idea.......An orange T shirt. Now that would really naff Moran off thinking of all those shirts bought and he didn't make a penny out of it !

We could look at doing a podcast special with fans on both sides of the debate. It would be nice if we could get someone from the club as well but that's unlikely. This sounds a great idea, good way to express views to a wider audience. Personally for me something needs to be done. When I first started going to Panthers 6/7 years ago you felt we were one of the driving forces and progressive clubs. Now I look around the league at Sheffield, Cardiff, Braehead and Manchester and just feel there is a buzz about those clubs like they are striving to improve themselves that we have lost. Yesterday summed it up for me as I was genuinely jealous of the Steelers, you see them put in a great display against some of Europe's best while the two thirds of our squad that have made it here are advertised by the club itself as eating burgers and drinking beer. Not saying time off shouldn't happen but you don't see any other top sports team showing their players basically on a day out! It's not always about what you do it's how you're perceived and at the minute Cardiff and Steelers are setting the bar for professionalism (in an on ice capacity) from the outside while we still seem to be like your average Sunday morning football team, rock up without training and hope we all remember how we used to play. In terms of protest and raising awareness can the first step be those that are disgruntled to wait in the foyer / cafe until the anthems are done and lights are up. If this is 50, 100 or more people it will cause a bit of added hassle at the gates while also the crowd will be down for when the players come out and anthems are done. In all liklihood people miss maybe the first minute max of the game but the message is there.

Have you tried reaching out to this new media guy? Depends how under the thumb he is, but having someone inside the organisation suggesting being on the podcast couldn't hurt? Although i must admit, I really didn't like the way he handled the snapchat about the shirts, sounded a bit "tough poo poo" with the whole "Some of you don't like how we're release the shirts, that's not going to change"....So it may be more of the same

Has anyone thought about buying Neil Black out. Then as owners you can do exactly as you like, and have others criticise your decisions.

He got the panthers for a song due to their financial troubles at the time but I can bet now he will want top dollar as the sit-in tenets of what most think as the best hockey venue in the country and he wouldn't, I am sure, part with the golden goose easily...

I thought we didn't make big profits??? If we do why Is our league record so dismal? It's not a bad idea actually, you are now getting fan owned football clubs, why not Ice Hockey?

Got to be a boycott of a game IMO to gave any impact but with some publication of the fan's issues prior to doing it so the management know what issues need to be addressed. Use of Jono's show to air the issues would be a good idea. Also the boycott would need to be as early as possible in the season or its a cas of locking the stable door after the horse has bolted! Try club need time to address the issues identified.

Why not just enjoy the hockey and support the team, its what we have waited months for?

Why not just enjoy the hockey and support the team, its what we have waited months for? You certainly can if you want. I've been a season ticket holder for 15 years and will continue to go and support the team. Just because I'm frustrated with some of the management doesn't mean I'm going to stop going and supporting. I'd just like to help make some practical differences to improve the club for the benefit of all of us.

Maybe we just need to get organised?
Set up a formal group, club, whatever. With some specific pre agreed aims and a set out plan of how to achieve them.

Why not just enjoy the hockey and support the team, its what we have waited months for? Because it's quite obvious that some fans, given their posts, are unhappy with certain aspects of the organisation. I can't say I necessarily share all of their views or the tone of their posts, but they pay into the club & are entitled to raise any objections.

In answer to the OP, I think that GM is too arrogant to care and NB is making too much money to care.
Not that this should make us apathetic. If we get the abysmal non-reaction to mid/long term injuries that we had last season then something will need to be tried at least. Game boycott? Maybe as that would hit GM/NB where it hurts most, in the pocket. A period boycott would be visually effective but it would be from fans that had already paid for tickets so its money in the Panthers bank already so why would they care?
I think this is a worthy thread though and may well run the whole season.
